I saw this on the road yesterday in SoCal. The shape was vaguely familiar but I figured you guys would know.

Look like it has Chevette or Citation tail lights, probably some 80's custom RV.

Vixen. Amazing motorhomes. Most have BMW diesel engines and very low floors. They can fit in a standard garage IIRC.

looks like something out of a mid 80's sci-fi movie set in the mid 90's..

Yep, a Vixen. Slow as February molasses, won't tow anything other than itself. It was made short in length and height to fit in a standard garage which necessitated a pop up roof for standing room.

Those have a rabid following. It fits in a standard garage, yet allows a 6-footer to walk down the center. Aluminum frame, I can't remember all the cool features.

It certainly looked unique driving down the 405. The shape reminded me of those landing vehicles on Star Trek or the ride at Star Tours. Maybe a similar paint job would be cool.

Yeah, something like that. I'm kind of a fan of those. They are unique enough to get my attention, and actually functional enough to hold my attention. Unfortunately, they are expensive enough to not get any of my dough.

This thread reminds me...
The other day I saw GMC Motorhome towing a Nissan Cube.
The GMC appeared to be in excellent shape and was painted all white. The Cube was a matching white.
I was surprised and impressed at how much the looked similar in design and made a good pair.

Given the flat black, I somewhat expect a SWAT team to emerge.

Felt the same way when doing research to buy my Hustler lawn mower.

By the way, it's www.hustlerturfequipment.com.

Maybe it's an updated version of the EM-50 Urban Assault vehicle.

That would be a pretty awesome movie theme vehicle to have. Maybe not in assault mode so you can make it through town without local SWAT trying to redecorate it with an RPG.

I would rock a Vixen if I wanted an RV instead of a bigger boat

There's one of these for sale locally in absolutely amazing condition. I'm sure it's a repaint, but it's done so well. I have to make myself not stop every time I drive by.

I would be interested in seeing a modern version of this concept, with modern tech and all.
