So, does anyone watch Stacey David's Gearz on SPEED? I'm so glad to see this guy back hosting another good television show. Ever since Trucks left the air (he built an amazing truck called "Copperhead" on that show and then thrashed the E36 M3 out of it for an entire episode) I've been wondering if he'll come back.
Well he's back. I saw one episode and it appears as if it's somewhere in the middle of a season. He's building a car based on a Miata - the Banshee. Funny how it looks exactly like the Banshee from GTA III, which I always thought looked kind of like a Miata . . . What a cool ride! Of course, it's got a nice V-8 stuffed neatly under the hood hooked up to a T-5 with some nice, tidy exhaust work.
I just hope they can find the time to air it between some of the countless episodes of Pinks and Unique Whips.
He's too over the top for me

That originally aired last year or so, and I haven't seen any new episodes in a long time. I watched them, I liked the show, but Stacy's laugh after every fourth word gets old. he may be really a car/truck guy, but I don't think he is what the suits at the networks think we want to see,
He also makes a Shelby GT350 clone race car.
He's waaaay better than those other chuckle heads on trucks, or Truck-U, whatever. Every other workd is Dude or Man and they bolt stuff on. That's it, no real building.
Stacey David built a 1940's army truck on a one ton frame, 44" tires for playing in the woods, nice.

Stacey David kicks ass. He might not be as good in front of the camera, but that's because he's a car guy and not an actor.

His laugh annoys me. On the other hand, I do think he is a genuine car guy, and I did like Trucks for the brief time that I had cable in 8th grade.
I was watching one of those "truck" shows where they were modifying one of those small off-road type kart things (Yamaha makes one I believe). They were adding things to it, including a roll bar. I was thinking, considering how high off the ground those things are, the fact that they are meant for off-road and their spongy suspension, shouldn't they already have a roll bar!??
I swear, the first commercial that came on when I was watching it was a law firm looking for clients for a class action law suit against Yamaha (I think) because those ATV karts are unsafe!
When I was watching it they were noting how cool it is you can get a vehicle like this for only 8-10 grand (or something like that). I was thinking, crap!!! that's a LOT of money for a little turd like that, you could certainly do better with just an old small 4x4... but I guess that wouldn't be cool.
I bet you could find a lot of those cheap these days, since a lot of them were likely "refi" toys.
I like his attitude. He always looks like he's having a great time - he probably is! He builds cool cars and trucks - it's his work and not just a box of the same five bolt-on components thrown onto every vehicle in the series. Then he plays with his creations! Is the show still airing?

I saw that too. It was interesting to see what can be done with those things. But all they did was install a bunch of crap onto a demo vehicle. After the show you know they took it all off and gave it back to the aftermarket parts manufacturer. I bet it didn't even have gas in it.
I'm a big fan of his, loved Trucks under him, Copperhead rocks, the big ole Military Dodge is called Sgt Rock and has actual (non working) machine guns on the bed.
His new series is cool, I especially loved the V8 bar stool, yeah a real V8. First drive he nearly comes a cropper.
he is the real deal.
I think my issue perhaps is that he has two first names.

I think the producers of the Trucks show forced Stacy as well as the guys who followed him on that show talk and laugh annoyingly.
Stacy has had the Gearz show on Speed for at least a year, maybe two. He also has a website and forum that's pretty decent. I believe he's also a session guitar player in Nashville.
He has built some great stuff, but his laugh, yelling and throwing stuff get on my nerves.
I like the guy and he reminds me of all my buddies from the late 1970's. My wife laughs at him and me.
You have to admit he does some good work and not a bunch of fluff work.
His hair is the best. Long live The Steve Miller Band!
I want him to get pants with more room in the front. Not the type of package I want delivered every Saturday morning.
I like the concept of the show and even a lot of the work done, but he gets on my nerves.

Umm.. why are you looking there on a Saturday morning?
I think you're the only guy here who's noticed.

They replay the same 5 episodes over and over... eventually one's eyes wander, right? Guys... I mean, who's with me? Hey, look over there... It's a Miata!
I like his show, laugh at his hair, and love the builds.
Unfortunately he has never seen an autocross, based on the last "fan ride" he featured. Pointer cones anyone?

I was bashing my head in as I watched that...
It seems that the laughing after (and in the middle of) every sentence has grown more and more frequent over the years...to the point where I didn't make it five minutes through the last episode of Gearz I saw.
He does do some great stuff and I really liked him on trucks. But now it's just annoying to watch.
Okay, so I have been kinda forced to watch Gearz with my husand and I actually like the show! Hell, I was just doing some research on Stacey David and was wondering if anyone out there thought his pants were tight too. I lauged so hard when I saw this post. Ha ha. Nice buldge dude, doesn't anyone want to tell him he looks like he is shoved into those jeans?

My wife bought me a shirt this weekend it reads:
"I don't have ADD... Oh look a squirrel!"
Tha post reminds me of that shirt.

He hasnt changed his hair style, why should you expect him to change his pants style?
I like his show. I think he has more room to do what he wants rather than being on a show called "Trucks". I do remember him complaining when early on in the show, the show would receive trucks from manufacturers and after the show was done playing with them, they went to the crusher. Its good to see stuff changed and he kept some of the trucks from "trucks".
