Too bad nobody can buy them. All the movie ticket sites have crashed and burned.

I'd like to make fun, but admit the only reason I know is I was trying to get tickets for the first weekend showing.

Think it's going to have a good opening weekend?

All my attempts have been futile.

Although I did catch the new trailer, I still have tears in my eyes.

Still hitting refresh on Movietickets.com. I keep getting closer to actually making the purchase.

I have a suspicion I am going to be WAY burned out on this before it even releases.

I also suspect Disney will milk this bitch for all its got (think current super hero movie trend).

(I am not a Star Wars hater BTW, I enjoy the good ones)

Yep, same here. Time to give up and try in the morning. Hopefully I can still get something on Friday.

Son-in-law went to the box office. Waited in line for about 10 minutes.

He got one for himself, his brother, my daughter (my other daughter, not his wife), and me.

I saw the original (now part 4, apparently) in the theater when it came out.

I thought it was a cowboys and Indians movie, only set in space, instead of the Old West. I fell asleep.

Better put my flame suit on now.

Back when Episode 1 came out, there was a movie theatre across the street from my office. There wasn't any advanced ticket sales back then, so people started lining up at the front door several days before the first showing; I remember it was particularly cold and rainy that week, and they were all huddled out there in ponchos and wet blankets.

They must have been really disappointed after spending several days and nights out in the rain, only to go inside to see Jar Jar Binks on the screen.

I thought it was a war movie, and 7-year-old me was wondering why my mom would take me to that kind of movie. Two spellbound hours later, a lifelong nerd was born.

BTW, I was finally able to get through on movietickets.com this morning. Two tickets for 4pm on Friday, right after my son gets home from school.

It's a 4k digital release, I'll wait a extra week and a half and see it in a not packed theater with no downsides.

The Ultra Panavision 70 release of The Hateful Eight on the 25th takes a ton of priority. I want to see that before the prints get all beat up, within a few days of release.

I think the original Star Wars pretty much set the bar for merch. So, same old same old

I'll go see it in the theater at some point, but opening weekend isn't important to me so no advance purchase here. It'll take three days to get SWMBO out of the house to go see it anyhow...

I figure the digital edition will be out 6 weeks to 6 months after the release. I'll set up the projector and see it on my screen with my sound system. The lack of spell bound nerds drooling Coke and Snickers will be worth it.

Wait..... they sell Star Wars merchandise? How did I miss that? Sometimes I think the movies are just a vehicle to sell merch.

Like the movies or not--- they've created quite a business model, and a massive $$$ making machine.
