I just can’t decide between Giant Meteor or Camacho…that’s it, I’m going to tally up the lawn signs I see for each and go with it.

I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but I find "Giant Meteor" really funny. A meteor (max size 1 meter) is nowhere near big enough to "end it all", so Giant Meteor is really just another lying, pandering, piece of E36 M3 politician like the rest of them.

Campaigns are known to put signs in traveled areas. Depending on states they may put them on the highway right-of-way.

Sounds like your property is a known traffic point.

Adrian should start casing known traffic points, so he can get a free sign! I didn't think you had to buy/make donations to get political signs either, but I don't get into the political stuff.

In reply to BrokenYugo:

I made mention in the rant thread in like August about voting for an asteroid strike this year, someone hotlinked that pic in response, and yes, my first thought was "a meteor won't solve anything"

An asteroid killed the dinosaurs, meteors made the pretty lights in the sky in Jaws when everyone is below deck singing about Spanish Women and comparing scars.

No, I don't sink to the depths of the other side - (Joke OK, there are good people and bad on both sides)

In reply to SNL has been on a roll this year. I've started staying up late again to watch it live.

This is why I support Cthulu 2016: Why settle for the lesser evil? I have full confidence it can get the job done, unlike that pandering little space rock. :P

Chelyabinsk meteor? 20 meters in diameter, 14K tons and 40K mph.

Properly placed, with a burst at the proper time...

It wouldn't end it all, but it could certainly improve things.

We have a guy in our town that makes tons of his own politics signs. Like black marker on a poster board type things. Then stupid displays as well. He didn't approve of the local bike lane, so he put a plastic skeleton and bike under the hood of his old pickup to demonstrate how many people would be killed by the irresponsible bike lane... he stenciled "pork barrel" on a drum and put it out by the road. All very tacky. I'm not saying it's wrong to make your own signs, but he's so far over the top it looks awful. But, for all the wailing and flapping of arms and displaying he does, all the time he spends on his handmade signs, it pleases me to no end that all of that is complete voided out by my vote. We cancel each other out, and I don't do anything, and he does tons.

The sad part, is in real life he's a nice guy. I like him. But he pulls of this bumpkin routine so well. I feel like it really makes our little town look so much tackier. And the funny part, a lot of what he says I agree with! He just goes about it in such a tacky way.

Also, coincedentaly, the pickers have picked his garage last summer...

Yeah this seemed to be a common issue in Virginia when I lived there. The local Republican candidate put a ton of money into planting signs in any public space. Then all of a sudden the Friday before the election, they seemed to target private property to put signs up shopping center fences, private home fences, private home grass, and . It got to the point that his campaign was fined by some of the communities for repayment of costs to remove them. Not sure how it ended up but it was rather rude to me for them to do it.

Seemed like the contractor was getting paid per sign. What was odd was that the democratic candidate didn't have any signs they just had a billboard and some signs on their campaign HQ.

Unfortunately, Americans continue to vote based on name recognition more than knowing the candidate.

Technically speaking, the rock that caused that was an asteroid. A meteoroid is at most a meter wide, everything bigger is an asteroid.
