Last night, after the blazing sun went down the sky got dark. That’s normal. But here’s where it get’s strange. It appeared someone, off in the distance was taking pictures with the biggest flash ever attached to a camera because the whole freaking sky lit up! These flashes must have scared people because there was booming that happened just after the flashes, it appears people were dropping heaving things as a result of these huge flashes.
That went on for a while. Then the really strange weather started. I was outside looking for the source of these flashes and I thought a bird crapped on me, right on my head. Then my shoulder. Then my head again. I looked up and there were no birds. The next thing I knew, the sky started leaking! There was a liquid that started falling EVERYWHERE! It freaked me right out. So, I ran across my lawn (raising a dust trail the whole way) and into the house to avoid getting this substance on me. I sat in my house just watching this phenomenon. Everywhere I looked there was this stuff falling, for over an hour. It appears there was a green dye in it because this morning I noticed by formerly brown grass has a tinge of green now.
What is the explanation for this bizarre weather? Oh, on a related note, it’s actually below 90 degrees right now. Another oddity.
that odd phenomenon seems to have skipped my side of the state :(

Sane here. We watched this strange phenomenon split and go north and south of us yesterday.

Same thing happened here in my neck of the woods. I discovered the window seal on the miata was dislodged and allow the seat to get soaked. Luckily it was the passenger side.
We have something similar happen at times, only the stuff that falls for some reason goes sideways instead of straight down. Weird.
LOL you guys...I cant remember anything like that ever happening before. Water?... falling from the sky? I think Boost is making stuff up...sounds ridiculous.
Now, if you guys will excuse me, I have to go vacuum all this dead straw stuff off the dirt surrounding my house...cant remember how it got there
[snicker]...lol sky was leaking lol....[/snicker]
I've heard about that happening, but I thought it was just a myth.
Ours usually comes with dust.

Someone forgot to change the sky's huggies
holy crap!! it just started here!
Here we had the flashes of light and the booming, but no crappy liquid.
Where I am, the water seems to all be stored directly in the air. I did an experiment where I moved slightly and some of the water falls out of the air and soaks my clothing. Strange.

We have had it all. Heavy rain, great lightning shows. I sit out back in the gazebo and smile at Ma Nature. Until the water starts that horizontal stuff.
I wish someone would turn the humidifier off in that big room with the blue ceiling.
DrBoost, I see you guys finally converted. We in the PNW have the only real Rain God, and clearly you've just been worshipping the wrong one before now.
Of course, I'm mostly pleased that you'll be taking up some of his attention now, and perhaps he won't completely devote nine months a year of his watery care to the top left corner on the country...

Did the rain make to your place last night? I watched the thunder heads pushing their way to T.O. last night. They slid north of me in N Falls.
It's sooooooo nice not having to mow.

My girlfriend has been loving this drought. She originally from California. She says "everyplace looks like California!"
We had some boomers roll through last night, I stood in the cool dark breeze just watching it at 2:00 am. Unfortunately we've been so dry and the soil is clay; it just ran off at first.
Hopefully some ran toward your homes .....

A certain company I may or may not work for may or may not be currently testing pigments on grass to make your shredded wheat look like your lawn. Maybe. I may or may not, depending on how factual my statement may or may not be, think it looks pretty good.

Nope. We were supposed to have thunderstorms all day yesterday. I was at the track, so I was grateful for the lack of rain, but holy hell it was hot.

I think I'm about as likely to dye my lawn as I am to buy fake hooters.

Mine looks like weetabix
We got the thunder and lightning, but haven't seen rain in weeks. The heat is manageable today.

It's been a steady rain all day now. I'm glad, and sorry for those that didn't get any yet. Like you Bobzilla, up till now all the rain just missed us to the north or south. Glad to finally get some
