1) I love New Orleans more and more every time I go there.

2) I didn't see a single modified car in New Orleans. Why is this? Is it the crappy roads, they get stolen or what?

3) Why can no one maintain the same speed? I am sure about every modern car has cruise control and yet I was doing a better job keeping the same speed then most people even though I have no cruise control.

4) I kept smelling gas. I am assuming it is from oil spill. What the hell is with politicians trying to berkeley the Gulf Coast?

Nope, that's from all the tourists who aren't used to the spicy food!

What exactly is there to like about that place? Seems like a complete E36 M3 hole to me.

In reply to TJ:

Great food, great drinks, friendly people (unless you are in the wrong part of town), cool buildings

I love it there. It's great for people watching and lots of good food.

We bypassed NO for a stop in Baton Rouge. Major mistake, not to be repeated. Had to change planes in Houston. Will NEVER make that mistake again!!!! Argghh.

I've been there and it's a helluva a lot more fun Huntsville.

I agree I am in Huntsville for college.

It's just a guess, but the reason you might not have seen any modded cars was because there isn't a full-fledged customer base for this phenom in NO or there isn't anyplace to buy the mods/get them added. Here in Memphis, the last "tuner shop" closed over a year ago, as did the last independent import auto parts store. NOW, if it isn't sold by AutoZone, and you don't care to do it yourself after ordering online...you are SOL.

I wouldn't argue that point. I didn't say it wasn't fun I said I think it is a E36 M3hole. Different things entirely.

TJ is right on the money here. I lived in Slidell for a year and a half. All of LA is a E36 M3hole, or, as I say, "The armpit of the world." You can get good food there, though. The true shiny happy person of the world is the Persian Gulf.

I have had some of the finest duck hunting and fishing in LA, and plenty of fun in New Orleans. The sanitation in New Orleans does leave some room for improvement.

I miss New Orleans a lot :( I'm a native. Only reason I don't still live there is that I found a job in Michigan before my wife (then girlfriend) found a job down there.

I saw a lot of modified cars, but they were mostly of the ghetto blaster kind. Not too much of a tuner culture there.

It has the best food on earth.
