I liked the Bridgestone Beaver ad. The VW vader ad was neat but it looks like they cut it down from the one that was leaked earlier. I barely got home before the game and missed the McDonalds/Corrado commercial.

Also liked the Coke/dragon ad.

  1. Cap!
  2. Thor! (even though I've seen the stuff on the net)
  3. Bridgestone "Beaver" ad. Cracks me up.

I dunno what happened at the end of the game, we were busy interpreting the Angry Birds code.

i liked the CarMax ad with each person going through their "i'm happier than a (fill in the blank)" statements

my favorite was "happier than a hippie in a drum circle" but "happier than a wrestler in a folding-chair factory" was a close second.

and FWIW, i can't not laugh when i see someone take a shot to the nads. comedy gold, i tell ya!

Hands down winner was the kid playing Darth Vader--and yes, it was cut from its original length

"House" ad--great if you're a fan. If you don't know the show it did nothing to draw in new viewers.

Half time show had LOTS of production/audio problems that were inexcusable.

What REALLY pissed me off was the "interpretation" rendition of the national anthem. It is written one way, to be sung one way. Agulara was horrible; owes a public apology to all. And I am by no means a flag-waving shiny-headed guy. There are, however, standards that are applicable in certain situations. I would have preferred to hear Hendrix's rendetiion to hers. Yes, I just contradicted myself, but she was awful.

Had soda coming out of my nose when Rosie got smacked with the log. Overdue.

I think choosing to play the Anthem at Woodstock is acceptable of a "interpretation" given the situation.
At the SB with soldiers flanking the stage is not the right place. Agreed.

Do other countries have the interpretation issue with their respective anthem?

Don't think so, too much national pride by the performer, who recognizes the history of the Anthem and what it represents.

the national anthem performance at major events has become about the performer.

I don't like that.

We already had this discussion a couple of months ago on this forum. Fergie is ugly/looks like the crack/meth addict male that she is.

Best to me was the "Darth Vader" VW commercial. Especially since I have done that to my nephew when he was little and playing too close to my car in the driveway.

Second, The "Beetle" commercial. My thoughts started out with WTF is this? and ended with LOL.

The "Bridgestone Beaver" is probably the best of the rest. Some of them were not at all interesting and some were just plain disgusting.

You mean you could actually hear Slash? I couldn't. Thought it was another sound guy mistake.
Kinda glad I missed the beginning of the game and the singing/flubbing of the National Anthem. Yeah I know it was discussed before but Fergie does have her moments of hotness.
The halftime shows seem to be about the biggest name and biggest show and others getting involved.Just not a great venue for a concert and kinda wish it would stop. Usher was mainly inaudible but he can add the appearance to his resume now.
Yeah, this years commercials seem tame compared to past years. I think it's mainly the flack they have gotten in the past for the commercials. There were a few that had potential. The Darth Vader kid was cute along with the serving dogs. Yeah, loved that Beaver ad. IMO, the Darth Vader Kid and the beaver ad were the top. Although I did like seeing Roseanne ran over. But enough with hitting the family jewels. Wa-a-a-ay over done. Just not even a hint of amusement anymore. Nor cringing because you know it's going to happen.

Interestingly, the tune was originally a drinking song for a British gentlemen's club of amateur musicians. Only later was Frances Scott Key's poem "Defence of Fort McHenry" set to it.

So, arguably it would be appropriate to sing while swinging a tankard full of beer.

Why would I want to go out an buy a Benz now that I know that it may start up and drive off on its own every year when the new models come out? That ad had some good scenery, but ultimately was a stupid ad.

Maybe next year, someone will start a Facebook group to raise money to keep Pepsi and Bud light from advertising at all.

Who was the guy that ate th snickers before Rosanne got clobbered? Those ads are pretty dumb in my book, but at least the ones with Aretha Franklin or Betty White I know who the people are. Who was that whiny guy who didn't want to make logs?

I thought Darth Vader VW was better as a Youtube video than a commercial. The commercial had nothing to do with VWs other than the fact that they can have a remote starter.

I thought the Audi prison one was funny.

The talking baby has been better and Go Daddy should give it up and just stop torturing us every year with some lame-ass commercial.

Why were there so many car commercials? Is there no other industry with millions to spare?

I forgot all the commercials for crappy movies. There seemed to be more of those than in other years.

Oh, and after looking at the link with all the commercials - I liked the Beetle commercial, but I guess it wasn't all that good as I totally forgot about it in 2 days. The one making fun of ipod zombies was funny, but I don't remember what it was for exactly - only because of Apple's 1984 commercial from back in the day.

I dunno, as the hitting someone in the head with a can of soda is funny it really does really really hurt, but itseems just like everything the u.s. tries to do with tv and cars, we fail compared to everyone else

To each his own I guess. I can't remember a single thing about the bud commercials except for the stupid one where they got free bud for product placement. I am still wondering who would actually want it even if it were free? Not me.

As far as Pepsi goes, they just kept at it with what seemed like a ton of commercials. I don't want a diet soda. I do not want pepsi, nor diet pepsi, nor pepsi max (whatever that is).
