It was well-reviewed. I have a buddy who has one and does a ton of driving in his job. He's crazy about it.

Am I the only person that likes the SX4 in hatchback form here? I've never driven one but it seems like a good package; good size, AWD optional, manual trans available, etc etc.

Me too, seemed like it could be a good smaller Legacy/Forester alternative.

I have it on good authority that Bobzilla faps to these.
I've driven a few SX4's and recommended one to a friend (about 4 years ago? Still has it, no issues). Those were good cars. Mini-Forester is an apt description. The Kizashi was really good, too. This is too bad.
I liked the SX4 Sporthatch thingy. the regular AWD ones and the sedans not so much.
I am not suprised by this. Suzuki almost pulledo ut of the US several times in the past. But they just haven't brought over the GOOD stuff to us for some unknown and idiotic reason.
I still love and miss our 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Fantastic little mini 4wd that could go anywhere and do anything.
The only think I remember about Suzukis is getting in the back of their large CUV (which was the same size as the Mazda CX9 and Ford Edge, roughly)- and wondering why people think it's a good idea to seat 7 in a car that size. (not much seating space and no storage for any of the riders)
Seemed like a decent enough car, though.
I'm a Suzuki guy. I have continuously owned at least one for the last 12 years, but it's also been over 10 years since they've had anything I would even consider new. If I were in the market for an AWD 4 dr, I would take the Suzuki every time over a Subaru, but I'm not and probably never will be.
It's interesting to see how people think it's sad, or too bad. If it were GM, you guys would be all over their incompetence. The rebadged Daewoo's, the bungled rebadged Nissan pickup, no two door, and nothing sporty for the last 18 years? They get a pass. Why?
I like their older cars, but I have no interest and nothing positive to say about them as an auto company.

that is the problem... they keep pushing the cheap stuff at us.. but have never brought over anything substantial. even the Koreans learned that lesson
Not shedding any tears myself. I have to wonder how a company that can do so well at making a name for itself on two wheeled vehicles has managed to fail so badly at getting any interest in anything four wheeled they sold in the past ten years. Why haven't they had anything remotely equivalent to a four wheeled Hayabusa?

It's that easy?! And here I've just been smuggling Hyundai Ponys across in my colon.

Think of it more as pouring one out over what could have been rather than lamenting over their product line in the US for last 15 years.

Say what? Did you actually read the articles? Suzuki is staying (bikes, ATV's, UTV's, outboards, etc). Only the auto company is leaving.

Oh j/k the first part of the article seemed be saying that the rest was leaving too.

Once again the problem was marketing.........I have never seen a suzuki auto advertisement anywhere other than magazines.
In reply to yamaha:
You don't remember the mochacchino maker commerical with the coffee coming out of the glovebox for the Kizashi?

nope, they must have had that on in the mornings.....
They needed to do 2 things. First, bring us something we want and interesting like the Swift from Europe. Second, advertise. They did neither, so they didnt sell cars.
It's not hard people.... you make something people want, you tell them they want it and then you sell it to them.

Has nothing to do with marketing and everything to do with not having anything to sell.
Is Mitsu still here?
When was the last time they had a real, new offering?
Most recent was the Outback Sport. I guess they thought they could piggyback off the great success of the Outback they have offered for years (sarcasm.)
Oh, they also have the Lancer GTS...again following the great success of the Lancer

My previous bet would have been 2014, but Mitsu announced yesterday that they finally have a head of US ops and they are going full-steam into the US again. I don't know with what products, but interesting news nonetheless.

That's not entirely true. They had some neat products when they built their own. The new Kizashi, the SX4 SportHatch and the Grand Vitara were all great products. The problem was no one knew about them. No one.
Yes, they needed to offer us more products, like the Swift and the diesel engine in the overseas GV. But they weren't selling what they had because of marketing. It almost seemed like Suzuki WANTED to fail in the US.
