So, yeah, E-Bay. Bought a ton of garbage on it, but I've never sold anything. Most of the stuff I'd sell is small Honda bike engine parts, random collectibles, and, diabetes supplies.

Any tips or tricks to make this work? I want the buyer to know exactly what I'm selling. And I don't want to get bitten by a shifty buyer. My plan is to sell most of these as a Buy it Now, or at least set the starting price at a low, but reasonable amount. Lots of picture is a must. Only using PayPal. What is a better method of shipping? Fed Ex, UPS, USPS? Anything I'm overlooking?

With pics and a good description you should be good. I have found that most Ebayers are responsible. EBay has fairly good protection for both buyers and sellers. If you are selling small parts USPS has some good flat rate prices and you can add the cost into the selling price and call it free shipping. For slightly bigger stuff start saving boxes and packing material and you can use UPS and EBay has a calculator built-in to their listing page. You just fill in the box size and weight and it automatically let's the buyer know what their shipping price will be. Typically pretty accurate but I usually add a couple of pounds in case. They do charge fees for selling so make sure you leave some money on your PayPal account as EBay will bill at the end of each month. I usually check to see if there are a bunch of other people selling what I want to sell and if so I wait until the herd thins out. It will also give you an idea of what things are going for. Happy selling.

Here's some tips on what not to do. Don't accept bids from buyers with a 0 feedback. Don't ship anywhere other than the paypal verified address. If the buyer claims they didn't receive it you are out both the item and the cash. Don't link the paypal account with your main checking account, if there is a dispute and paypal freezes your bank account you won't be able to move or access your funds. Link it to a separate account. Many banks offer second accounts for free or nominal fee.

This may help, at least it gets you into the general area of eBay for tips on selling parts. Selling make-specific parts on eBay
