Cleaning garage today. Decided to finally part with some tires I have from vehicles I no longer own.
I listed 4 Winterforce tires from old Buick/Taurus 15" for $60 for the whole set of 4. Pretty used up but good for one season of a light driver.
1.5 hours after listed a guy called.
30 minutes later he arrived with an S10 (the planned recipient).
2 minutes later he said, "will you take $50?"
Seconds later I was loading them into the truck and waving goodbye.
Now to see how long it takes to get rid of this other set which I posted first.

These have more tread left than the Firestones but generally a crappier tire.
I just had a great CL experience this morning. Listed my pickup for sale at a good price. A couple drove 6 hours from Michigan to west central Indiana to buy it. No haggling (it was already reasonably priced), counted out the cash and drove away after swapping a few stories. Great people. They were respectful, punctual and thankful for a good deal. We need more of these kinds of people buying on CL and less of those that shoot you a lowball offer because, like a dog licking itself, they can.

It's not the lowball offers that bugs me, it's that they come in by text before the first question or interaction. I believe that even if I said yes be here in 30 minutes with the cash that most transactions still wouldn't happen.
I've actually had far, far more good experiences with Craigslist than bad. Several of my friends I met through Craigslist. And I sell and buy on there a lot. Just the other day I sold some speakers and hit it off so well with the fella we have been snail mailing each other albums and mix CDs!

I thought that you had been banned from CL
I have not yet solved the issue that my home IP is still banned by CL for unknown reasons.
I can, however, still reach CL via my phone so I posted the entire CL ad from my phone.
Had some good deals with CL lately for Vette parts. I paid a guy over PayPal for an exhaust and he held on to it for over 2 weeks for me while I moved and could get it. Price was good, no need to haggle. Same for the trans I bought for the car, drove 6 hours round trip for it, was exactly as described.
But on the flip side, called and texted about a grill, no response whatsoever. Hard to sell something when you don't respond to interested parties.

It happened to me in my old apartment. What I think is that someone else who was sharing a subnet with me was being naughty, and CL blocked the whole subnet, to keep someone from doing the "unplug the router and get a new IP" trick.

A kid here was just murdered trying to sell $300 speakers on Craigslist. YMMV
Sold my truck (2002 F250 4x4 Lariat Diesel) via Craigs recently, two disappointing attempts and one awesome deal.
The first guy asked if I would do $7500, I said no, I don't negotiate except in person, I am willing to negotiate but $7500 or $8k wouldnt take it home. Dude says OK and drives up from Chicago about 2 hours. I meet him at a grocery store parking lot, he goes over the truck with a fine toothed comb, offers $7500. So sorry, I told you no on the phone. How about $8k? Turns out thats all he brought with. Too bad so sad, adios motherFer, thanks for wasting my time. Next guy same story but he wants to do $7600 (and only brought $7600 even though I told him more than $8500 on the phone) because he "drove a long ways" Hopped in the truck and left, I didnt even tell him no. He knew.
Next guy shows up, had his daughter with, we drove the truck, he offers me $8100, I tell him make it $8700, settle on $8500. Cash money truck is gone.
I have been trying to sell my box stapler. You know the one that puts in those nasty staples in the ends of a cardboard box that you cut your forearm on. I don't remember what I paid for it, probably $80 for it. Then I picked up a few boxes of staples.
I was making the Montecarlo version bumpers for Lancia Scorpions and the market finally dried all up. I used this to box them up for shipping. No need to keep it. I have it down to $30 and still no takers. I was visiting the local dealer where I know the parts manager and offered to swap it for an oil filter... He said he would do that. If I get no takers I will have one extra oil filter.

Today I went out on CL to check on the two Doral tires I have listed. While there I see that two of the Winterforce tires have been listed by the guy who bought them.
Link
I can tell that these two were my previous front tires and show the most wear. Mostly outside edge wear from tie rod/alignment issues.
Im not sure if it is buyer's remorse or not but..
He bought 4 for $50. Now asking $35 for the lesser 2 could mean he ends up with the better 2 for less than $10 each.
Either way, I'm happy to see them gone especially considering it would have cost me $5 each to dispose of them.

I dunno. Maybe the guy just wanted 2 tires. He got a screaming deal on a set of 4, so he went for it. Then he tried to sell the pair he never needed in the first place. I've done that.

Any chance you would ship that? I'm in Columbus OH but I could use it and the staples. Email me at my user name at gmail dot com. I'll even throw in a random oil filter if it gets the deal done. Might be used. ;)
I've sold 3 cars via CL with good results.
The first was a rust damaged Taurus that could be fixed but not by me. The first responder bought it at my asking price. It was worth 3-4 times more in parts than what I was asking. The second was my DD until I bought a new car. Again it was painless. First looker and I made a deal after the test drive. The last was another rusty car my sister wanted gone. I asked $800 and the first person to show up handed me $800 even before she looked at the inside of the car or even test drove it!
The last three sales I made on CL have gone remarkably well. I sold a set of ARP Head bolts, an exhaust system, and a set of snow tires. All without stupid questions, low balling, or wasting my time.
Had a great experience on the buyer's side earlier this year. Doing my usual Saturday AM coffee and Craigslist routine and spot a set of nice looking, low mileage JK Rubicon shocks for my XJ. Ad is only an hour or two old, asking price $50. Guy immediately responds to my text, we meet at Lowes an hour later, $40 changes hands, and we go on with our days. I'm sure he was just as pleased as I was to unload them so quickly and with so little hassle.
Since this came back up, I'll update on my CL banning.
First just the house IP was banned but not the cell IP. I had sent emails requesting ban to be lifted but no change.
Actually, there was change...the cell IP got banned too.
Emails sent from phone gave no result either.
I gave it some more thought and what had changed recently. I figured it must be phone based since the phone uses the home but the home devices never use the cell.
On my phone I use a CL app named CPro recently, Aug 9th in this thread I commented on using a feature of the CL App to set notifications. I had set for 2 different key words into 2 different categories.
In retrospect, I figure that every time I walked into the house (and the phone found the wifi) it sent out a barrage of searches to CL in multiple cities in multiple categories on multiple words. That I figure is enough to get you banned.
I deleted the auto searches and sent another email request for ban lift and then (without notice) the ban was gone within the day. Second request for ban lift sent from the phone was positive also.
In reply to JohnRW1621:
Very interesting; thanks for the update. I bet they could tell the requests were coming from an app too. Good to keep in mind.
They have notifications with Craigslist now, I use them much to the detriment of my sanity as I get my emails of "cars I want to buy but shouldn't" several times a day.

The last two things I have sold on CL, The buyer looked at the item (exercise bike and vintage military bags) and handed me the cash and left. Both times, I left in less than 20 minutes.
Just helped my dad sell an old fireplace insert on CL. Dude calls the night before, shows up the next day with a rollback truck, hands my father cash and leaves. Entire transaction takes about 30 mins + time it took to load that heavy piece of E36 M3 onto the truck. I've had far more positive CL experiences than negative. I bought both of my last DDs on there, furniture, and cell phones. Not once have I been burned (knock on wood).

I had not gotten any calls on these other two tires. Today a guy calls out of the blue. Short conversation and he says he'll try to get out today and he'll call back when.
Sure enough, he calls back later in the day. Says he'll be out soon just need address.
He arrives in about 15 minutes from there.
SOLD for asking price of 2 for $30.
Slight chatter with him telling me he is putting them on a lightweight trailer. Some pleasantries and he was gone.
Damn good sale!
Took 12 days.
