I think: It would be a good idea if new users were not allowed to post links until they reach some upper level of dorkdom, like at least "Reader" or MegaDork or 25 posts or something. That way when a canoe-er makes a new account and tries to spam us, he can't effectively link to the web page. It would take a little code change in the board software.

The handbag spam is actually pretty smart. Im sure more than one of us has done a purse-worthy offense to the wife, likely involving some rotting hulk we call a car.
