I have had conversations JUST like this, although I'd never talk to a customer quite like this.

Doesn't matter what line of work you're in. If you deal with the public, you meet customers like that way too often.

Haha, it's true. It works both ways though.

Since I used to be a mechanic, when I bring my work van in for service, I tell them whats wrong with it and they look at me like I'm an idiot. They tell me they'll take a look.

When I get it back and they go over whats been repaired, it's always everything I told them.

years ago, I brought one of my fiats in to have the valves adjusted (shims atop the buckets) because I could hear them.

When I got the car back, the guy just looked at me and said that I should NOT have been able to hear how little they were out of adjustment..

I guess he thought I was nuts too.

Worked for a guy once who would tell customers like this, "I'm sorry, but I cannot fix your car to your satisfaction. Please find another mechanic."

I get people that have taken their watch to Bobs watch and anvil repair for something simple, then when Bob berkeleys it up they want me to fix it for free under warranty. Um, no you berkeleyed it up and it is no longer under warranty. The warranty doesnt cover you nor Bob being a dumbass. Shees
