Cyberhobby/Dragon 1/700 USS Independence LCS-2 with Battlefleet Models 1/700 US Coast Guard decal sheet. I feel that the littoral combat ships would make an excellent addition to the Coast Guard's fleet in support of law enforcement missions, particularly anti-drug operations.
Isn't it too expensive to fire the gun on this thing if I recall? So yeah Coast Guard Rescue would be a better fit for it in the long run.
Nicely done.
I'm a lot late in reporting it, but my daughter and I did a third contest in 3 months, this one was the Oregon IPMS Model Car Show with the theme this year of "pickup trucks". Here's her truck on the theme table:
Here's all my stuff displayed. This one was a traditional IPMS show with no classes besides the theme and juniors, and only a People's Choice award in each. They had some awesome live clinics all day with master builders on things like pinstriping and chopping a top. There was also a huge swap meet where I was able to resist most temptation and only get 4 new models...
I really enjoyed this format as everybody basically spent the whole show talking to each other, coparing techniques, and really showing off their builds with pride. We had a huge showing of AMC models by different builders, so I got them all together for some photos!
My kid made it a 3-for-3 triple crown in shows this spring and won the award for the Junior's theme!
She even had her truck professionally photographed by the rep from Scale Auto, which was awesome!
Now it's a long break until the September show that will have all of the categories and classes again. We both need to get to work on building new stuff!
I'll leave with some of my favorites from the show:
