4895 is available around here, but it hovers around $65. Ouch.
Been out testing again. I have a happy recipe for my 308 using hornady 3037, but I intend to start hunting and that bullet is not recommended.
So I picked up some Sierra game kings and have been testing. 150gr bt. I'm using ramshot TAC, since cheap and has been good so far.
The recipe my rifle liked with the 150 fmj-bt is 42.8gr loaded at 2.735 coal. Just by the book. They stack. It's very nice.
Best I can manage with the GKs is 1.25moa. They are loaded with 41.3gr, at 2.750.
I've always heard that longer COAL is usually better, but the same weight bullets that are .015 shorter had much better results.
So my question is, what is a reasonable amount of variance to test? Do I load groups in .005 increments? .015? What do yall do?
