Movie on with Glenn Ford and Debbie Reynolds (?) wheeling around in a Lincoln hot rod. Same one Bruce Wayne used? I thought Barris invented it.
Cool in a Robbie the Robot kinda way, but as someone who's sat under a glass canopy in the sun for hours at a time, I gotta say the AC better never fail.
Apparently no one worried about rollovers in the 50's?
EDIT: And yes, Batman is exactly what I though of when I saw it.

He wasn't copying anything. He modified a Lincoln Futura concept car because he has something like 3 weeks to build a Batmobile.
integraguy wrote: "....never liked Barris's designs". What's not to like about the Monkeemobile?
That car was built by Dean Jeffries. After the show was over, Barris bought the car and then started taking credit for it.
The General Lee? The Munster's Coach? The Beverly Hillbillies truck? Greased Lighting? The Beach Boy's Lil Deuce Coupe? The Filnt-Mobile? K.I.T.T.?
What's not to like??

Want a list?
It seems to me that Sam Barris was the talent and taste behind the duo and that George became the celebrity. The Hirohata Merc was Sam's design and that catapulted them to fame. Ala Kart was Georges greatest design but it already showed him heading over the top in a bad way.
Maybe about 10% of George's portfolio isn't gag inducing.
I mean really?

Say what you will, but that is the coolest forklift I've ever seen.
