I was going to update my original thread, but apparently someone had to make a point and got it locked
Anyway, I am now 12 days out. Tested negative a couple of nights ago. Been out working on the motorhome and, besides a couple of coughing fits, I feel reasonably good. Didn't take anything but Nyqill and some painkillers so am fortunate I got a mild case.
My bride got Paxlovid and just finished the last of them this morning. Her drug side effects seem like they were worse than my just having Covid, but she has a delicate stomach, which may explain some of it. She was doing OK today.
Planning on giving her another Home Test in the morning and hopefully she will be negative then.
I'm 10 days out, similar results using similar products. Still feel like I have a cold but mostly OK.
I got the Paxlovid prescription but I decided not to take it after reading all the instructions and all the anecdotal results - even my Doc warned about the stomach possibilities and also the possible bounceback.......I decided just to "tough" it out.
Still don't understand how we've managed to keep my wife from getting it but I'm glad she's avoided it......it's not fun being sick for 2 weeks let alone if it went bad and you wound up in hospital.
A friend's brother survived it - he was intubated and spent almost a month in hospital, most of it in the ECU, and now three months later he still is suffering different symptoms - he wonder's whether he will ever fully recover. Long covid and covid brain are real things.
Already signed up to get my third booster shot tomorrow.
I'm currently in around round with it. Tested positive Thursday evening. Fever broke Saturday. Got a chest x-ray today, right lung is 20-30% full of fluid, (that lung has been through a lot) but the pain when coughing has subsided and stuff is coming up when I cough. The fatigue finds me of OG Covid though.
Good to hear you are feeling better. My experience with COVID was two years ago. It had me down for three weeks and recovery was slow. The only effect now is a worsening of my tinnitus, but that comes and goes.
Our doc did a televist with my bride before giving her the Paxlovid. He thinks after getting the vaccines and boosting, after recovering from Covid we should be bulletproof for at least six months.

Whoops-thanks for the reminder.
I just made an appointment for me and wife. Ended up doing CVS but it looks like it's free at a lot of places.

Mine and kiddos are fine. Wife is dealing with a lot of post covid issues. We are not sure that they're related other than the issues weren't there before covid, but are now (or are hugely multiplied).
It is gonna be an interesting 3-18 months if the post covid difficulties don't go away.
Gave my bride the home test and she came up negative. Still some coughing and tiredness, but feels much better.
We were talking at dinner tonight and we both agreed how fortunate we are; two years ago if we had been infected, there is a reasonable chance we wouldn't have survived. We lost friends and know community members who didn't make it.
Good to read you're feeling better.
I'm almost a week since my positive test. Fever is gone (was not high; just above normal - my "normal" is slightly under the average) and aches are gone, but the cough and congestion remain. Haven't tested lately, but haven't felt the need to. Unfortunately, my vacation travel companion also tested positive on Sunday and the result was canceling a three week vacation that has been in the works since 2019... Yay...
Oh well... might buy myself a present to make up for the money I now won't be spending.
Glad you are feeling better.
I tested positive 13 days ago, the muscle aches, fever and fatigue were bad for the first week. Still suffering from congestion and headaches. My wife and both kids had a fever for two days and then bounced right back. This has been a year of sickness with all the daycare germs, kids are always getting us sick.
