"Christmas Freilachs" by The Angstones. You have to love Frosty the Snowman sung in a phrygian scale. Only available from one or two local Ottawa record shops, no online linkage available.

I am listening to some of these songs to drown out the horrible christmas music that plays at work constantly.
The Christmas anthem of the cynical and misanthropic. And a quite nice song to boot.

Can't believe I forgot this one: John Prine - Christmas in Prison
Actually, the entire John Prine Christmas album is very good.
Can anybody tell me who sings....er.....grunts "Here comes Santa Claus"? I think its some jamaican dude- a guy used to play it on the local community radio station here, but he's gone, and I haven't heard it for years now.
It's kinda emo, but its not bad

Youtube is a thief of time. Went to listen to John Prine, which took me to "In spite of ourselves" with him and Iris DeMent which let to George Jone and Tammy Wynette to Willie Nelson to Alanis Morissette to a bunch of Weird Al. I love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpMvS1Q1sos
Vince Vance and the Valiants All I want for Christmas is you. Possibly too sappy for the list, but she can hit a note out of the park.
Interesting: The chick in the video there doesn't seem to be the actual singer. Look on youtube and you'll find the original singing it, Lisa Layne.
bit of a slow starter this one. Henry Rollins "Twas the night before Christmas". love the gunshots and copters in the background. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFUgRRYmLvk
I don't have links to them, but:
August Burns Red- O Come O Come Emmanuel- drop C power chord version of the song, very metal!
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones- 12 Days of Christmas- each day is a different time signature and different chromatic key...even when they go back down to the first day
If you want something that is cynicism-free, Brian Setzer's Dig that crazy Santa Claus has a fun rockabilly/swing feel.
