I will not eat it in a box, I will not eat it with a fox...
TIL (ok, actually it was yesterday) that a four-wheel-steer lawn tractor will let you get into the inside corner of a fence such that it's very difficult to get out. [Dirk Gently Sofa GIF]
TIL that if you can't get a jar of salsa open, use a can/bottle opener to break the seal.
TI-also-L that the salsa was supposed to be for after lunch.
Yesterday I learned:
Young snapping turtles aren't nearly as mean as their older relatives.
I like to leave the roll up door to the grind shop where I work open so I can get some sunshine and "fresh" air. Said door faces a levee that's about 50 yards away and separates me from a river spillway. A small snapping turtle wandered in like it owned the place yesterday.
At first I was like:
Then it looked up at me with it's sad baby turtle eyes and I noticed that it was covered in oil and flakes of metal that are cast off during the rolling process.
I decided I should clean the off the little bugger so I gingerly picked it up. It relaxed in my hand with it's legs and head drooping between my fingers. Must have been running around the mill for a while. I spent the next hour or so gently wiping it off and giving it a close inspection while running my machine. They really are cool looking!
I considered smuggling it home but I decided it would be best to release it into the shallows of the spillway on the far side of the levee. I carried it out there during my lunch break, held flat in my open palm. It was probably 9" or so long from it's nose to the tip of it's long tail with a 4"x5" shell. The little sucker got all kinds of worked up when it spotted that water!
Today I learned two things:
1) It appears that the NV DMV charges you a penalty and a late fee if you renew the registration on your truck a day late. It was only $12 but that smarts when the registration total would've been $69.
2) I also learned that my credit union can't tell my middle name and my last name apart and sold me a bunch of checks for $toomuch that have no last name on it. Not that it stopped anybody from cashing them (and nobody had noticed so far) but that's still annoying. Let's see what they have to say when I rock up at their branch.

Interesting. This happened to me the other day. A dump truck driver rolled down his window to scream as loud as humanly possible at me BERKELEY YOU!!!!! I still don't know what I did.

As much as I've seen motorists berkeley with trucks, intentonal or not, I'm suprised it doesn't happen more often.
I learned that Not only did the birds return to my hydraulic press this year, but they've hatched!
im surprised they don't mind the compressor or lights or anything
Today I Re-learned why I never shop in regular supermarkets.
I needed a few things that Aldi doesn't carry, and picked up a couple of bags of standard (store brand) groceries: Ouch!
How about if Aldi or the grocery outlet doesn't have it, we don't need it?
TIL that I bought a Mazda rotary engine stand adaptor and forgot all about it. I gave it to a friend since he stored my stuff for a couple years, and anyway I have the Mazdatrix one with the engine stand head built in.

TIL that as much as I can't stand PepBoys, I'll go there if it'll save me $10 on a part for the challenge project. Just ordered the part for pickup in store next week.
TIL an SN95 Mustang convertible windshield can take a 45mph buzzard hit. The antenna however cannot.
In reply to spitfirebill:
Down. Puckers were had.
Luckily the bird in question cleared the car after the windshield hit.
