Yeah, i dont know what happened to that. But, it's been 3 years since I created it, almost to the day. No cigars, no cigs, notbing. Managed to do it while my marriage was failing, without my ex paying attention. I still get cravings, occasionally. Usually when I just need a minute.

On any event, good on you for quitting. Hardest part is the first bit.

I prefer the term 'douche flute'.

The problem I've always had with vapes and ecigs, until very recently, has been that after a few puffs, it tastes like, well, it leaves me wanting a cigarette when I'm done with it. Completely defeating the point of being a replacement.

About 2 weeks ago, while buying the now ridiculously priced death sticks at the store, a rep was there and gave me a coupon for a Vuse for a buck. Ok, I'll try it for a buck. While it's not a cigarette replacement for me, I can take a few puffs and save a cigarette for a while longer. It's also really nice on long drives because I'm not messing around with a lighter with the top down. But no sweet after taste, which really helps me not want to smoke immediately after. At least the hospitals have an idea of what to look for when I go in sick as a smoker is my usual response.

I've watched 3 friends replace cigarettes with them, and now they're constantly puffing on the damn things. Sure, you can breathe better, you're not coughing stuff up, but you're still getting the nicotine, and actually smoking this thing more, with god knows what in it seeing as it comes from the same place as our cigarettes.

I switched off Marlboro Reds at 17 because I was smoking 3 packs a day. I've been on Camel Wides since then, and have stayed pretty steady at a carton a week the whole time. But now with cartons at $82.60, and my steadily rising credit score, I can see an attempt to quit in the future. I have a target in mind, that hopefully, I'll be able to meet. Whether through my credit, or more taxes, when what I spend a month on cigarettes can instead be spent on a Certified Pre-owned WRX(or equivalent) I'll quit. Income/Output neutrality basically. With my current credit, they almost have to double in price, but my credit is getting better every month. This time next year, I might be able to do it. (don't argue with me, I know, down payment, savings, blah blah blah. I can afford it, so I do it)

There have been times where I've had to stretch a pack for a week. I've done it, with mostly no ill affects. Not the most pleasant person to be around, but I was basically living out of my miata so I was pissed off anyway. I think part of my problem will be breaking the habit of "2 packs of wides, $20 on 3, and the water" I've been saying it at so many gas stations for so long, it just comes out when I get to the counter. Heck, it's waiting for me when I walk in half the time.

I just see it the same way I see my drinking. I'll always be an alcoholic, even when I put weeks between drinks. I'll always be a smoker, even if I put years between smokes.

Trust me i get it. Breaking that habit (two packs of camel menthol. Nope, already paid at the pump. Yeah she's fine. That car is at home). It's a matter of deciding it's time. If you don't want to, you wont.

What's the vaping equivalent for people who like to sniff glue? Asking for a friend.

I can speak to this as I recently used vapes to quit cigs. I have struggled with my addiction to Marlboro reds since I started smoking at 13. I have quit several times, tried patches, and cold turkey. Was successful quitting cold turkey and stayed quit for 8 years. Until I got really stressed out after my third surgery from a car wreck and started smoking again. Felt stupid, still did it. I decided to try vaping. I knew I wanted to quit, and I had no intention of trading one addiction for the other for the long haul. In the short term though, it did allow me to separate the addiction to nicotine from my addiction to the cigarettes. I started going to different gas stations where the clerks didn't know me so they couldn't pull my usual two packs of reds as I was walking up to the counter. I smoked my last cig on Feb 22nd, and switched to vapes. Mixed my own fluids to gradually taper the nicotine level down to 0mg. Then started reducing the times that I would allow myself to vape until I could comfortably leave the house to run errands and stuff without taking it with me. Quit vapes entirely two weeks ago. Thankfully I was not an shiny happy person to be around during this whole thing. Now I have some kind of nose superpower, as I can pick out a smoker from 20 feet away. I still dream about cigs, and I still want one every now and then like when watching a movie, but I am done with them. Congrats to those who have successfully quit, and huzah to those who are ready to quit. Now comes the hard part, staying quit.

I pretty much suggest Meth for all your addiction curing needs (except meth of course-it sucks for curing that one).

No offense but it is likely that if the OP could quit cold turkey he would have and your admonition to run away from alternatives does not help. If cold turkey worked for you, congratulations! I personally tried cold turkey along with every other method for years. What worked for me in less than 6 months, was vaping. It was the only thing that worked and it worked quickly.

To the OP, get a decent setup. Go to a vape shop and keep testing until you find something you are satisfied with. Your don't need to blow clouds or buy a rebuildable setup. Watch out for Chinese knockoffs of popular tanks/mods. Keep the nicotine low, no more than 11-12mg, preferably 6mg. Move down on the nicotine early and often. Once you are on 3mg you can quit with basically no withdrawal. Vape nicotine is not nearly as hard to quit as cigarettes in my opinion.

Your local vape shop likely has a bunch of people posted on the wall who quit. Ask them.

BTW, 20+ year pack a day smoker who quit entirely (no vape) within six months of switching to vape. Closing in on 2 years since my last cigarette.

This... You just saved me 20 minutes of typing. I want to add that I would mix oil 11mg with 7mg then 7 with 3 then 3 with 0 until I was using just zero. It also helped me to vape in the same situation as I would smoke. In other words I would go outside. It took me 4 months and in In Januaray we had a few really cold days in a row. I realized that I hadn't been out to vape in 4 days, I haven't touched it since. By far the easiest time I have ever had quitting.

EDIT. Also I bought a Miata with the money I wasn't spending on cigarettes.
