Wife buys me a watch with the intention that I keep it forever and give it to kid in a will or something.

I put watch in pocket and break it within a week.

Watch is broke, stuffed in a drawer, kid finds it years later.

How do I fix this? The glass shattered and the watch stopped working. Probably because of glass shards stuck everywhere.

I love watches.

I also have sausage fingers.

I take my watches to a watchmaker to have repairs done, price is always reasonable and we're both happier for it.

That pocket watch is powered by a lightly skeletonized version of the Chinese Standard Movement; it's easy to service but easier still to replace.

Any local jeweler will know of someone who can service and repair the movement if they can't do it themselves. Generally the prices are pretty reasonable as Trans_Maro said especially if parts are still available.

Who made the movement?

Go to a real jeweler, not one in a mall. They'll know.

Good call - found one randomly on Google near home - will try it tonight.

I hate to say it but there probably isn't any replacement parts made for it aside for the glass or maybe all new movement. Find a replacement that looks the same and say it was fixed.

It's etched so no-go.

I dropped it off at a local watch place yesterday. They said $65 and a few days
