Good for him. I'm honestly surprised it took him this long to leave F1 after being the fall guy at redbull for the past few years.
So....I wonder if he'll ignore any team orders if they arise during the rest of this season. I certainly hope so !

Muahahahaha revenge time!
GameboyRMH wrote: Yep, being the fall guy AND having to work alongside Vettel...enough to make anyone quit F1.
I dunno, you'd think that driving the best car in what is arguably the pinnacle of the sport would make up for some of that. I'd put up with it for a few years - but I may not have the psychology of a top-flight driver.
Good for him.
He sure was

Managed to do it in a Red Bull too

I remember following him at this stage

Both the others, Bargwanna and Bright, ran in V8Supercars, Bright is now in Indy and drives endurance races.
If Kimmi actually ends up replacing him, I wonder what the radio transmissions will be like when team orders come down.
"Kimmi, multi-21"
"Ya Ya Ya - Leave me alone I know what to do"
Oh? Enlighten me - I'm not privy to all the politics just yet. I can understand not wanting to be second fiddle if that's what you mean.
I was simply commenting on what I read in Autoblog's announcement.

Which one?, IIRC, Webber flipped at least twice that week at Le Mans and a teammate as well. The flying Benzes were flying Benzes.

Kimi doesn't take team orders and doesn't do PR. Red Bull requires both, plus they clearly treat Vettel as the "#1 Driver". Kimi wants to party after the race, not do more F1 PR crap (which is why he left in the first place). Lotus allows this.
My money would be on somebody well trained at being "#2" like Massa.

I would bet on this happening. Vettle will be the number one driver no matter what. He is getting the wins, points, and constructor wins. Why change that? They'll just hire a support driver, and some people are happy in that role (like massa).

Lotus knows that there are a bunch of us who are Lotus fans because Kimi is awesome.
So, is the #2 driver at RBR going to be a pay driver?
In reply to Keith Tanner:
No, that's what STR is for. I can see them hiring Massa or moving an RBR driver up. Nico Rosberg would be a good fit, too.
Javelin wrote: In reply to Protege2886: There's no way Kimi goes to RB, *especially* with Vettel still there.
I hope you're wrong ... don't mis-understand me .. I like Kimi ... I'd just love to see Vettel get some of his own
In reply to Spoolpigeon:
It'd be funnier for Bruno Senna to end up there, and then actually start winning.

F1 is as much of a soap oprah as nascar is a rerun of larry the cable guy. So you're pretty right. +1
I can't wait to see the LMP1 porsche do backflips.

Why in the world would Nico leave Mercedes? That hasn't even been speculation?
And with the job he's done against Lewis Hamilton, I'm not so sure Nico would be playing 2nd fiddle.
I thought Kimi was a shown for the spot, being friends with the Brat and all, but Javelin makes some valid points.
