A racing friend does a lot of acting and always posts casting calls and there was one for "man with beard" and well, I am a man with a beard. Surprisingly I got a call to go audition (my beard is far from magnificent) for a mustache part (I guess because I'll allow them to actually shave me?). The audition was over Zoom and I was lucky that I do YouTube and had a tripod and good lighting.
Anyways, it was a neat experience!

As a teenager, my younger brother used to do a steady trade in commercial modeling. When I got my drivers license, Mom made it my job to drive him to "Cattle Calls". Besides the bonus of getting keys to all the family cars and a credit card to pay for fuel, I got 10% of any job he landed.

Coincidentally, I've been clean shaven once since I was 19, when I had a very small part in a production of the opera Madama Butterfly. They never told me that I had to shave until the night before the performance, at that point, I didn't feel like I could back out. Looking back, I'm glad I went through with it.

Well I just had a second screening, this time with the director. My kids think this is simultaneously the coolest and most hilarious thing that has ever happened to me.
I'm guessing that the director saw your "bring a closet" video and this interview process is all a formality
