The pegs/balls on the sides strongly suggest that some kind of string or wire is meant to be wrapped around there.
Ive seen them before. I just cant remember....

Wacky idea: Tent stakes? They'd work. Except the clear one.
Everyone is focused on the pointy end. I think the balls/ weights on the other end are more important.
They appear to be spaced very carefully- like a measuring instrument, or musical instrument component.
If you wrapped something around them, you’d get equal loops. Like tapestry, or fishing net making.
I considered farming, and surveying, and tapestry, and weaving, and medical tools, and animal husbandry, and Cooper smith, and fishing, and maritime, and acupuncture, and sailmaking, and musical instrument string pegs, and astrology, and carefully weighted/ spaced mallet or hammer...

I would guess some sort of weaving or knitting tool. No idea what though.
The clear one suggests that these things don't see much stress so weaving or knitting is the only use that makes sense.
Wondering if these might be draw bore pins for aligning offset pinned joints in woodworking.

The heads appear to have impact pads. Are they possibly a string or percussion mallet.
According to a historic arms major friend of mine, its either a chain mail mandrel or a ring mandrel.

Maybe what you need here is an equally curious friend with access to high-tech CSI gear. If these things have been used to do... whatever they do, they probably picked up traces of what they touched. If you can identify those, you might get closer to the story. Watching with interest.

I’m not finding any that are pointy on the end like these, nor with the offset knobs.
They remind me of the neck of a two string instrument, but the size and materials don't look right.

I'm less than two weeks from hip surgery....I didn't need to see that. Then again, I'm not getting a replacement, just a repair.
Interesting that the wooden one clearly slips into something else...
I did some googling looking around knitting and weaving tools, loom accessories... But I didn't come up with anything.

Not saying you are wrong, but I'd think a chain or ring mandrel would be uniform in diameter and not tapered.

I don't know how it would fit in the top of the neck, but one of them has a notch in the top, too.
(edit) That would result in compression lengthwise, so that it was pulling the spike tight into a fitting in the neck. That would reduce lateral strain, provided they were tensioned evenly.
