About six weeks ago, drunken college students abandoned a shopping cart on the lawn at work. There are no markings on it and we are at least five miles from the closest grocery store. We left it out front for a couple of days and called a couple of stores to see if they wanted to come and pick it up, but now it has been sitting out in our parking lot for over a month.
I'm getting tired of looking at it. If I could think of any way to repurpose it or build something else out of it, I'd drag it home. Any ideas?
I've been working on this one in my head........except a gas engine.

About 25 years ago, some dumbass teenager I knew stole a shopping cart. I used it to build a cart for my welder. I cut off the basket and modified the base. Very handy welding cart, but not as exciting as the above pics.

This seems the easiest solution. Although I don't know if would be more fun to ride around in it or watch friends try to get in and out of it without falling on their asses or tipping it over.
Better for moving motors around the garage than a cherrypicker. I want to "chop" one and use it as a luggage basket.
Install a mirror and a false bottom so you can steal lot's of groceries!

Where do get them without "acquiring" them from the local Wal-Mart or paying $150 for a new one?
The answer seems to be hang around the perimeter of any "big box" store. I usually see three Wal-Mart karts down the road from their store (Drawback: On a major road), and one or two from the local Kroger on a back street (Drawback: Um... don't need it).

Shopping carts are great for hauling stuff around, and would probably make a great garage addition. They can easily hold a few hundred pounds. If you expand the top part (the baby carrier), you can lay a tray flat over the handlebar and the front edge of the expanded part and have a mobile desk.
I have a "Small" shopping car.. I think it came from a clothing store, but like the OPs.. it has no name on it. I am currently putting a wooden top/door on it for odd tool storage
