I was wondering why they were arresting a small block Ford.

I'm still wondering why just him so far, giving the others time to plan/run/hide.

The US trying to recover the money that the Bahaman government seized, after everything was supposed to be frozen, is going to be an interesting fight to watch too.

Thank you. No offense to the OP, but the way people throw around acronyms like everyone is supposed to know what the hell they mean these days gets pretty annoying. This is a berkeleying car board. "SBF" means "small block Ford". Period.

There was a lot of money going to a lot of powerful people. Is it macabre to take bets on if this guy gets Epstein'd?

I totally hear you.  When I first heard about this guy on the news, I was like "who or what the heck is SBF?"  But this is the way the cool kids refer to him.  And I am nothing if not cool.  And hip.  And a groovy daddio. cheeky

Personally, I hope they throw the proverbial book at this guy.

They will, he stole from rich people. Think Bernie Madoff rather than Scott Tucker.

Should know by now the only people allowed to pull money out of thin air are the central banks.

Good distraction from giving away the berkeleying Lord of War for a nobody though.

Any time they can't answer the simple question: "where did the money come from?" It's a red flag.

This is a Google Maps photo of the bank that SBF, the Gemini guys and the Deltec guys bought.

His story is incredibly interesting to me. I just don't get it. He's donated mostly to a certain genre of politicians, but also said he donated to the other genre through dark money channels. Why would he do that? Or, why would he say that if he didn't do it?

He also was extremely supportive of various charities and said that his pursuit of high income was to give... But he later said it was just for the public perception of him. Which raises the question... Do I care why he is donating to these beneficial causes, or do I care that he is donating a large amount?

Then from the banking/risk/fraud side of everything, it baffles me that people could believe anything about crypto being legitimate. This guy created insane wealth out of nothing, and had it disappear overnight. That doesn't make sense, and it should create skepticism for the rest of the industry.

I'm also baffled with why he did all this in the first place. He's obviously incredibly intelligent, and having been raised by two Stanford Law professors we can assume that he was well off before embarking on his Wall Street career (prior to the bitcoin stuff), and we can assume that the "I didn't realize it was illegal" statements are complete BS.

It really seems like he got in over his head and then just made bad decision after bad decision... I hope he gets the book thrown at him. Which is a shame, because it seems like he could have provided a lot of good for society. Instead he got caught up in the greed.

What? Nothing on the arrest of SBF? The silence is deafening!

Nothing posted, because no one really cares.  How many people here lost money because of it? No one? OK, moving along...
