It can be yours or another persons car.
Mine was a 2005 Chevy 2500 HD 2WD regular cab. 6.0L V8. Red.
It was a company truck that I got to take on a road trip with to pick up the bosses dad's boat from Marco Island, FL to Alsip, IL. Had 200 miles on the odo when I took it.
Comfortable to drive, pulled that 1920's Mahogany Runabout like pulling a modern Bayliner. Was able to do 65 with no problems pulling that boat.
Now I want to go look at CL for 2500 HDs.
1998 Z28. Took one for a test drive.
I've never driven a brand new car. Newest car I ever drove is my mom's bugeye Impreza, it was a few years old at the time.
Those are well known for their weird seating position and simulator-like numbness (at least with the boring standard steelies).
My 2010 Speed 3 when I test drove it. Only had 44 miles on it.
Last year when I picked up my 2011 Frontier it had 7 miles on it.
Also in 2005, got to drive a friends new 2005 GT Mustang.
Husband's 2006 Mazda 3 that is sitting in the driveway right now. It will probably be the only new car I will ever have driven. What can I say?
I like old cars, and I cannot lie...
Mom's '85 Chevy S10 Blazer.
Dad's '71 Catalina, almost identical to this
n I did drive it a buck twenny out the four lane first time out

I would love to have a BIG two door coupe like that. I can't think of a better ride to take the family out on a couple hundred mile tour through the country side on a sunday in.
The 1980 Datsun 310GX I bought.
Drove a Land Rover a few months ago for a shoot. I, uh, think that's about it. Maybe a rental somewhere along the line.

My dad bought one of those when I was in high school, but the first new car actually I drove would have been the '72 Ford Galaxie we used in driver's training class.
It scares me that it didn't make enough of an impression on me to remember with absolute certainty. Could have been my (much!) older brother's '83 Cutlass Supreme, or his future wife's '83 Camaro Berlinetta. Maybe an '85 Civic or Cavalier.
Probably the Camaro.
way back when.. my mom bought a brand new 1988 Hyundai Excel GS.. her first new car. three years later, I bought it from her. It finally died in 1999 with 167,000 miles on it...
and looked EXACTLY like this.. black on a gray interior with black crossspoke rimes (in 13x5)

Baby blue '92 Taurus wagon. My mom's. Awww yeeeah!
Pretty much exactly like this, in my recollection.
I still got laid driving this thing! (And she's still with me 15 years later!)

My first brand-new car was essentially the first brand new car I ever drove.
1989 Dodge Omni stripper. Despite the laughs, that was a very decent car. The 2.2 FI was very powerful for the weight, and the car was geared very nicely. Driven gently, the car would get 45mpg on the highway. It was a great car, really.
Until 60k, when it started to fall apart quickly and alarmingly.
Still, at $6k out the door, I got my money's worth.
My dad's new 1986 Izuzu Trooper is probably the winner, as I drove it on my learners permit with him riding shot gun. It couldn't have been more than a few months old. Backed it right into a tree. After that my mom's 1989 Geo Metro which she is still driving daily.
2005 Ford E-350. I started a job and one of the things they promised was a new truck. I picked it up at the dealer with 11 miles on it. Not exactly inspiring.

I'll let you know when it happens.
A 1986 Chevy Sprint. I could get 47 mpg out of it if I drove the E36 M3 out if it or 70 if i drove 'nice'.
It was all of about 100' but a brand new '93 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX convertible while working my first real job at the transmission shop.
First one I really got a chance to drive was a '97 F150 XL 4x4 while looking for a new ride.
