What's wrong?

I have cable internet- super fast. When I go to a website and hit the button, BAM, it loads, right now. Except here. Earlier today, the site would not even load, now it's fine. This has happened several times before, just this time really bad. You guys getting hit by the internet beasties again?

I'm guessing you're eventually receiving Gateway error codes; said because that's what I get several times per week/day using a cable modem.

It's a server-related issue and most certainly not a problem on your side of the connection. And, yeah, it is frustrating.

Yea, the last few weeks this site has been really slow sometimes, and sometimes doesnt work at all.

PM'ing Tim Baxter, or posting in the feedback section is probably preferred to a random Off-Topic post that'll probably never be seen by anyone who can fix the problem.

Same here. When it does finally come back up, it seems the most recent posts are ~ 2 hrs or more old, which is a mighty long lull for this site. This leads me to believe the down time usually takes about that long to correct itself, or whatever happens. Once back up, it works fine until the next time.. sigh..

I'll bet Tim is all over it, like hair on a monkey!

Yep, we've been experiencing a lot of server errors lately, and are trying to solve the problem. Just another one of those things that makes me remember those early days when Tim and I were deciding to start a magazine ("How hard can it be?") and cringe.

I popped into the archives to do some searching the other day... The old times really were the best times.

not only do I have the same problem logging on (gateway error) but quite often the site goes down while I'm logged on...

hope we can get it fixed .... it's my favorite site....

Wow, I thought I was the only one suffering from this. Frustrating as this is my favorite site. When this one freezes/locks-up I spend a little time on other sites then come back later and it works fine. And I see that others have posted while I couldn't get on the site. Thought it was on my end but I can go to other sites w/no issues.

We all have cars that require some amount of tinkering, why not the site that supports them?

Because we have patience with our cars. Not so with our favorite website.
