Long story short, I've worn Oakley Flak Jackets for years, and I love them.
However, I'm now an old man, and just started wearing glasses. I don't like contacts very much, so I need a pair of prescription sunglasses.
Does anybody have a good online source for prescription lenses (or frames+lenses) for my Flak Jackets? So far, all I've found is sportrx.com. Are there other options I should consider?
Thanks.
Oh, and no–I am absolutely 100% not willing to compromise on the type of sunglasses or the frames. I love these long time.

This seems more what you are looking for but requires approval.

Alright, you started this spam-bait thread. You get to delete all the canoes it attracts.
HAHAH @ Joey
Those are cool looking glasses. I wear a $10 version that fall apart all the time. That's why I have a bunch. I'll have to look them up.
Come on there Tom, its like mosquitos to a unsuspecting human

I used to wear cheap sunglasses. Then I realized I could see more clearly without them than with them - and I borrowed a set of my wife's polarized Oakleys. They really do make a pretty spectacular difference. My eyes are less tired after a long ride or drive and I can see better.

One tip - if you do get a set of custom Oakleys, get the lenses etched with your name. It's a $20 option. Not only does it make them look like a limited edition, it increases the odds of seeing them again if you misplace them.
I double agree that polarized lenses are the way to go.
I wear prescription lenses, too, but I got them at Costco, not through Oakley.

The thing I like about this site is that if you put in your prescription it will tell you whether or not lenses can be made for them. My prescription is too strong for lenses to be made for the majority of Oakleys, sadly.
Long story short:
Pay a proper doctor of eyes to make some lenses. no compromises. Just hand him your money. Tell him your specifications for framing.
100% not willing to compromise == 100% willing to fund results.
The GRM way would obviously be to grind them yourself with a smooth rock and time to burn.
I work for an Ophthalmology chain, we sell prescription Oakleys. PM me if you want our contact info.
It's possible to change out the lenses.

Matco tools sell oakley glasses.
I wear oakleys because I am prone to migranes.. I find that they really help me deal with bright lights better than any cheap pair if sunglasses could ever hope to.
I just moved from M-frames to the Flakjackets... nice choice

I am prone to migraines myself and have noticed when they come on light makes them way worse and can sometimes turn a regular headache into a migraine if I am not careful.
Have you noticed if a particular color lens helps you out best with yours? Friend of mine is similarly afflicted and uses blue lenses in his Oakleys. My last decent set of glasses got broke so I have been thinking of picking up some myself.
I just wear the dark gray ones that came with the 'jackets. I should try the blue is your friend had good luck with that colour

I have not purchased from them, but they are mentioned as the go to guys for wrap glasses and big prescriptions. Seems good.

Mods--you guys might want to lock this thread. The last sunglass thread that we had (that I started) turned into the biggest canoe bait this board has ever seen.
Good call. Thread preemptively locked.
