Anyone know of any warbird shows within reasonable driving distance of the DC/Baltimore metro area?
Reading airport (Mid Atlantic Air Museum) is doing a WWII show June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It's a couple hour drive from there but it's typically a pretty good one. Judging from the signup list it ought to be really good this year.
Dover AFB has a pretty righteous air show some years. They had a great one in 2017 but I am not seeing one scheduled for 2018 yet, unfortunately.
They do have the Air Mobility Command Museum open almost all the time. Admission is free and you can get inside most of these aircraft, but they are static displays. Of course, you may see C-5s and C-17s in action at any time.
New Garden flying field in Toughkenamon, PA has a pretty good airshow in August of every year. It's a smallish private FOB so it doesn't attract a lot of heavy metal, but there are usually a lot of smaller military and civil aircraft involved.
Warbirds over the beach is happening in Virginia Beach this weekend.

This is a great place to visit!
Fair warning: three days of rain (predicted) + grass airstrip = not much flying
They might get a Stearman aloft but all of the cool stuff will be grounded.

There are only two things cooler than a Stearman. A Beech Model 17 Staggerwing and a Beechcraft Starship.
Latrobe airport still brings out the old stuff during their annual air show. I've never actually gone, but they turn around over my house. Nothing quite like a low flying jet or old rotary to wake you up on a Saturday afternoon.

Relative to a Cessna? Sure.
Relative to a P-51 Mustang, a PBY-5A Catalina, a Messerschmitt Bf 109 and many others in this collection...
A lot of the pilots of US military pilots of tactical and strategic aircraft in WWII learned to fly in a Stearman. Plenty cool.
