He's not in my porch! He did go on to bigger and better things, or at least more local for him with a bunch of "real" coworkers instead of a bunch of names he only saw on interoffice messaging, because he got a job with the newspaper in Kansas City, where he lives. Telecommuting across several states is tough, and he made it work for a good long time, so no hard feelings there. He still peeks in on us from time to time and helps when we have a "Hey Baxter!" problem.
Margie
Wow, that picture KILLED my bandwidth! (I want that 80's GMC pickup for $1900...) I like Baxter, he was cool E36 M3.
Haha, that pic is awesome. Where's it from? BTW there seems to be another Stig (spoiler alert!) in the #12 demo derby car. Which is real? NO ONE KNOWS. Why are the demo derby cars RHD?
Holy crap, how did I not know "Where's Stig" existed? That's so cool I just went and ordered it.
Okay, Amazon had used copies for 77 cents, but still...
So, OK, yeah, I'm a little late seeing this.
Like Margie said, the Kansas City Star was knocking, and I answered the door. Apparently the magazine industry wasn't volatile enough for me and I felt the need to go back into the newspaper industry, where things are really going tits-up.
That said, I've always loved papers, I have a lot of old friends at the Star, and it's never dull.
Very busy, though. Since spring of this year, I've launched:
Judging the Royals-- http://royals.kansascity.com
The Midwest Democracy Project -- http://midwestdemocracyproject.org
Saving 17,000 Kids -- http://saving17000kids.kansascity.com (a big special project about the utterly berkeleyed kansas city school district and what they're doing to try to unberkeley it)
Don't kill the Melllinger -- http://mellinger.kansascity.com ( a blog for one of our columnists)
Plus a couple of redesigns and other smaller stuff. So very busy. I'm still checking in when I can, though.
I think it's cool that anyone was interested in my whereabouts (assuming anyone still is, six months later)

indeed...and Baxter is that uncle that tickles you for just a few moments longer than whats appropriate
Glad to hear all is well. You headed south for a vacation this weekend? Tim has made it clear Margie is to be nowhere near cement mixers over the next few days, so youre good there.
I am, actually, but not to the challenge. Got a big Gretsch guitar event in Nashville I have to go to. With a little luck, I'll be bringing home another guitar or amp in the Miata.
