Oy! I just reviewed the Beetle TDI, and was surprised at how much I liked it. I despised the last new Beetle.

I'm not a fan at all. But I went to see them in NYC a couple of years ago (funnily enough, as a guest of VW when they were launching the new, new Beetle) and they put on a great live show.

I enjoyed his interview on Top Gear. Don't like the car though.

He definitely paid way too much for that. And it could have been cool if the styling was more '30s and less chopper.

He paid for changing his mind during the build. . . But it's his money and some builders got a lot of it.

Why take an early Beetle and do that to it. You could have taken any car you wanted to make that. Besides the pans, windshield, and front quarters, what about that car makes it a good starting point. I need to remember if I ever have a ton of money and need a car that is completely tasteless, I will go to WCC.

I think he suffered from the same problem alot of people do, though not to that scale. You start building something and change directions but never think it would be easier to start over so you start pouring more work into something to make it into what you want.

it started out as a completely different kind of custom, more recognizeable as a Bug, but will.i.am changed his mind so many times, this is what it ended up as.

Not a WCC build. BTW, they do some quality work when paid for it and given a reasonable time frame (none of this "we have to have it done by next week" crap).
