A New movie that looks like fun, says this former ProRally competitor.

Not Lancias? Wuss....

Yeah, Lancias didn't make it through the rust belt.....
there's a shot in the trailer showing them wheel-to-wheel. That only happens on stage rallies where one of them is going really slowly.
Unless they were fighting during a road section...

Probably just in there for dramatic effect. I'll allow the liberty if the rest of the movie is as good as advertised.
I'll reserve judgment. To be honest, there are way more bad racing movies than good ones. Frankly, the good ones can really be counted on one hand. Grand Prix, Le Mans, Rush, Ford vs. Ferrari, maybe Days of Thunder if we're being generous? But this one does have Daniel Bruhl, who was excellent in Rush, so there's hope.

But at the same time, I'll take a lame car movie over another lame romcom at every opportunity.
Unfortunately, there's far fewer car movies than romcoms.
So it comes out on Friday but I can't find a theatre in the Detroit area showing it. WTF? Clearly I'm missing something here.

I honestly don't think Grand Prix is a good movie. I like the racing scenes, but as a movie, it really falls flat. No dialogue. No plot. No story. No real anything.

Sounds like you mean Le Mans. And I agree.

I can't find it anywhere near where I am, either, in Knoxville. Odd.
I went to Lionsgate's website and it said for the movie, "Watch on Digitial and On Demand January 5."

Just looked over a few critic reviews, and it sounds like while the characters have been described as underdeveloped and there's nothing particularly groundbreaking about the script, the reviews I did read praised the driving/racing sequences.
I know I'll be streaming it when it's available because its a movie about race cars.

Racing! It's a racing movie not a soap opera.

I could describe the Ferrari film in the same way. It was still worth watching, though.
Just saw that this was on PPV and remembered I haven't even watched the trailer. From that, it looks like we might be in for a year of Cesare memes about Winning, like Dom Toretto and Family Or just a fancier Reese Bobby...
My boys and I are going up to work in the Middle King's SAAB this weekend so we will probably watch it one evening.
The head to head racing in the trailer is the only thing that strikes the wrong note. The girl asking "why do they risk their lives?" is right out of Grand Prix, isn't it? I seem to recall "why do you race?" being a constant refrain in that one.
Of course, I'll be watching it. That number and livery isn't an accident :)
