Walking dead is awesome. AND BACK IN FEBRUARY!
Most of what we watch is on Netflix. We just got hooked on Breaking Bad. Seriously awesome show.

Quoted for truth.
Unfortunately, Sherlock isn't back until 2014, and Doctor Who still doesn't have a 2013 release date for the second half of series 7.
I got hooked on Merlin (cancelled) and Luther (coming back in 2013), too. BBC shows are awesome.

Even when it palls it is still the funniest thing on TV. Says something about the show AND the quality of comedy on TV.

You can get an adroid hdmi stick for that. I look at liliputing.com to see what the latest/best is.

Crap I didn't realize Sherlock wasn't coming back until 2014 . That sucks!!!!!
I haven't watched Luther yet. Copper is another good show but I am a bit behind on that one.
Archer looks like it'll be fun, a lot like 'Ugly Americans' on CC. But like UA it'll probably get sorta boring after two or three shows. I didn't watch it first time around but I will catch '2 1/2 Men' reruns sometimes, they can be pretty funny even though it's the same 3 or 4 jokes over and over and over and over and...
Another Archer fan here!
I also enjoy the Walking Dead. Hoarders is my 'reality TV' guilty pleasure.
What happened to Top Gear USA? I'll admit the last few episodes sucked, it disappeared with out any word on the future....
Archer is awesome. Dirty, but awesome. It did NOT get boring after 2-3 episodes, at least not for me.
1600 Penn just looks god-awful. No way I waste a second of my life on that. However. between Breaking Bad, Justified, Mad Men, Homeland, Game of Thrones, and Boardwalk Empire, it is my humble opinion that we are living in a golden age of TV drama. And those are just the shows I like, not even including other acclaimed shows like Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, and many others that I don't watch.
TG USA has new episodes starting Jan 29th. (I follow all of them on Twitter, don't judge me)
Archer is awesome and I am unabashedly a huge fan of Justified. After Swayze died, Kind of the Hill ran its course and My Name is Earl was cancelled, I was worried my people wouldn't have a voice on TV (and Honey Boo Boo doesn't count). That show has some of the greatest macho one liners this side of Army of Darkness.
I'm on an HBO kick
GF has HBO at home and I have Xbox with internet, now I have HBOGO (hbo on demand) its terrible for my productivity but its great otherwise.
I wish that I had cable (sometimes) because I loved Ugly Americans, I enjoy that he is a psychologist (part of my background)

While I agree in theory with hating the fat obnoxious character, the previews had him only in a minor supporting role. But the second post is wrong on every count. Those are a fine example of what's wrong with TV. A few of them have good ideas, but the execution is wrong. Honey Boo Boo on the other hand is an argument for capital punishment.
This. Big Bang Theory is a load of crap (and any show that needs a laugh track is garbage, end of discusssion IMO). Modern Family garbage. New Girl garbage (and to admit as a dude you watch it...), justified, garbage.
Edit- Archer is amazing (for a cartoon), and Canadian to boot! My friends all call me Sterling now...

Deadwood is good until you get till the end. Mostly because it leaves you thinking "That's it?"
We just finished Deadwood a week or two ago and have the first disc of Boardwalk Empire to start on this weekend.
The end to Deadwood pissed me off, but probably not as much as it pissed David Milch (the creator) off. They abruptly pulled the rug out from under it if I recall correctly.

Truth.

I don't know if Big Bang Theory is crap, but laugh tracks definitely annoy the piss out of me.
I've only seen one episode and I enjoyed it but not enough to pursue the show yet. So much to see, so little time to see it.

It's not a laugh track. It's recorded before a live audience.
In reply to failboat:
Yeah apparently the writer would be making the next episode up until a day before filming, there are a lot of side stories that really start to develop and then go no where.
The Nigga General
berkeleyin steve
Almost everything Jane
Doctor's illness
Earp Brothers
Theatre people
and probably a few more.
But like all good HBO shows the season finale of the series is usually a let down...

Means nothing, it's a live audience with "sweetening" done post production, ie: laugh track.
Also it's an awful show, I've seen it called "nerd blackface" and that's correct!
You'll need to log in to post.
