That song came up when the kid and I were going somewhere and I turned it up. She looked at me all funny and said 'Dad, you know what that song is about, don't you?'. Well, duh. I told her, I remember it from high school. Then I remembered I graduated in 1976... damn I'm getting older'n dirt.

If "Back to the Future" took place today, Marty McFly would be traveling back to 1985…

Pffft, that movie was full of plot holes, like a Delorean that can't outrun a VDub minibus.
Have you ever been in a Delorean?
My old VDub Bus would do 0-60 in about an hour and a half.

I remember when there was no such thing as Acura. Now I'm buying one old enough to qualify as a "Classic Vehicle" in Nevada.

On wednesday i was at a children's museum with the family. One of the exhibits was a phone booth. Yes, a phone booth in a museum, to teach children who never have, and never will see one, what a phone booth is (was).
Tank Girl is 20 years old.
I recently found the DVD in a $5 dump bin. I remarked to the hipster cashier, "I remember seeing this in the theater," to which he smerked, " "You just dated yourself." I repleied, "I'll bet you wish you could have."
I walked away, triumphant.

Next year "the chronic" qualifies as classic music.
In reply to mndsm:
Well let's be honest, it was immediately a classic work.
My feel old moment usually comes when I am crawling out from under a car and trying to get up from the concrete.

Same here.
Tech tip: Always try to determine if there's anything else you need to do while you're down there.

Absolutely- and will be for all.times, it did define an entire genre after all. I can still pick out west coast sound due to that record. But- much like "classic rock" old school hip hop has gone classic.

The Honda Pilot commercials with the family spontaneously breaking into a rendition of Weezer's Buddy Holly bother my wife and me. A Weezer song should not be used to promote three-row Honda SUVs.

I don't think they'd let me take a nap at work.
I've had crap knees since forever, last week though I had to roll around under a box truck hunting a phantom trans leak and at some point I did "something" because afterwards it felt like there was something under my right kneecap and I couldn't walk without looking like half of a bad Frankenstein parody. Not so much joint pain as it felt like a badly strained muscle that I couldn't exert at all.
Couple hours later, I turn while standing and my knee went BANG. Then everything felt fine again and I could walk normally without difficulty.
On the other hand, I pride myself on still being able to stand up from laying down without using my arms or coming up one leg at a time, so I guess isn't all that bad. This is a good skil lto have if you find yourself with trans fluid and general old-truck underchassis slime all over your hands and you don't want to touch anything.

You mean that's not normal?

I visited the Union Pacific offices two weeks ago in Omaha and saw the remodeled purchasing offices. They did away with pubicles and have an open office environment where everyone's desk is next to each other and they all talk with inside, hush voices. If you have a heated or loud phone conversation they installed a group of small closet size booths near one wall with a terminal and phone inside. They pointed it out to me and was kind of proud of the idea.
The phone booth concept is back? I wonder if somebody got a bonus for that idea?
