Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to kindly ask you, for help in finding original wheels, for the Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary. I recently purchased such a car (photo attached) and it has track wheels on. Based on this, I assume that the car had an accident somewhere on the track near Waldorf. I would like to buy the rims from this car, from the previous owner and install them on the car after it is rebuilt. Perhaps the previous owner will be interested in contributing to restoring the original appearance after the car's reconstruction.

Thank you in advance for your help. I leave my e-mail address and telephone number in Poland.

I live in Waldorf MD and we don't have a track here. There's a drag strip and dirt oval a few towns over but not sure if either is where this wreck could have happened. FWIW I don't recognize the car from anywhere I've been.

Thank You for Your comment. That is additional information in my case. From insurance I can not get any more details. All I know is that car lived somewhere near Waldorf..

There are black 10 spoke wheels available at this link: https://www.originalwheels.com/mazda-wheels/mx5miata2019rims.php

In reply to Brett_Murphy (Agent of Chaos) :

Those are the "normal" BBC wheels. The 30AE came with forged Rays wheels in a unique size, so either you have to see if Mazda has any more or you need to find a set for sale - pretty difficult.

The Global MX-5 Cup cars run the same wheel in a 17x7.5 instead of the 17x7 that came stock on the car, and they're available through Mazda Motorsports. Part 0000-04-5806. They're in stock in the California warehouse and are $423 each for Team Support members.

It's exactly as the guy above writes. Original forged rays with the 30th anniversary mark are astronomically expensive... That's why I'm looking for them

I mean there's Dominion, Summit Point, and New Jersey Motorsports Park that are closest to Waldorf but that's a big area of DMV to track down. If you're looking for previous owner they might have sold off wheels years ago. Can check what's left in the car and try to track them down but that's assuming they'd still have them. Probably easier to check miata.net and some other forums to try to buy a set from anywhere. There are at least a couple of threads there that are "registry" or "owners club" for the 30th. Do you know what # of 3000 it is?

I suspect the previous owner sold the wheels separately because they wouldn't have been part of the insurance settlement. It's not likely they're sitting around in a garage waiting to be discovered.

I do know a 30AE owner who runs aftermarket wheels, I'll ask if he wants to sell his.

You might want to run a Carfax on the car and see what info they have of the history.

It is only $2-$3 on Esty

I was under the impression that new wheels were simply not available from Mazda, so your only option is used, and that's going to be a very tall order.

I assume you're talking about the 30th anniversary inscription ones? Because I'm pretty sure Volk will sell you the wheels without the inscription even if you want the 17x7 version.
