Hi everyone,

Im going to look at a set of wheels for our Vette project.  The wheels will need some love...

What is the answer for cleaning and polishing the wheels to get them looking nicer?

Thanks!

Those look pretty far gone. I think the easy option is to remove the current coating, sand it, prime it and paint it. If you want to keep the machined look they originally had, you're going to have to figure out some way to spin it while you sand it or machine it. If you want to polish them, you can do it with no budget hit, but you're going to be in for a lot of elbow grease and definitely some personal expense in tools and consumables.

Air craft stripper or bead blast.  You will laugh but the easy button is a tire mounting machine to spin them at a nice steady rate and a buffer.  I would tape off the centers and shoot them an alternate color and polish faces.
