Check out the first couple posts in this thread for details:  https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/simulation-central/grm-assetto-corsa-racing-league-s17-corolla-wagons/274983/page1/

Most of us are using some sort of wheel/pedals sim setup.  Races are Wednesday nights, practice-qualifying then 2 15 minute races.  2nd race grid is inverted.

I missed the last couple of races so I'm not sure if we're done with the Corolla wagons yet.  This thread is about what we're considering for the next series.

Yeah, get yourself on the Discord channel and we will answer any other questions you have on race night.  Discussion is not an issue at all, it's kind of a feature actually.

The next series will likely start in two weeks, and it's a good one (if you like classic race cars that is).  Next week would be the perfect week to get setup and get any questions answered.

OK, I think it might be time for me to dive in, too. Been practicing since I finished my rig just after Christmas.

Yes, yes it is.  These cars are very fun to drive and make some amazing noises [looks at Corvette with finger in ear].

Done! I've installed the suggested software. Now I need to reconnect my rig and start practicing and tuning the wheel/pedals.

Thanks.

I saw the car list for the next set of races. Looks great. Exciting.

So I am going to use the randomizer in excell to choose the cars for people.  That way everyone can see the results instantly.  Unless you all want me to do the live random draw video thing again (that was kind of fun) but I would preder to just use excell.

I will take all the names and make a list in a column.

Next to each name in the next column I put the randomizer number generator so each person gets a random number matched to there name.

Then sort the names base on the assigned random number (low to high).

Do the same for the cars and sort low to high.

Then put the two lists next to each other and you have your assigned car.

This way I can keep/edit the car assignments and do the re sorts and redraws very quickly.  I could OBS it and put it up for people to see.

For an individual draw I would take the list of cars available and use the random number generator assigning each car a number and then sort low to high.  You get the car with the lowest assigned random number.  In the extremely unlikely event that there is a tie we re calculate the random number on the two cars and you get the lowest of the two.

I can also use this to assign a car to anyone that joins in later on in the season.

Maybe I missed it the first time, but there are patches for the Cobra and Griffith sound (not sure what the issue was there, but maybe too quiet?) as well as a fix for the Alpha Giula TZ2, which is a rather pretty car.  It seems to be clearly in the low power group though.  I uploaded the fixed cars to the current car folder as well as re-loaded the fixed entire pack.  If you have the pack already, just download and install the cars.

Dean, you will need to update the 3 cars on the server.

Darwin, I put up another version of the trio sticker, with and without logo.

Wow.... not sure what happened.  I liked some of these cars at Watkins Glen, but I hate every. single. one of them at Road Atlanta.

W.G. has no low speed corners or tight spots.  These things just don't put down power at low speed

I am thinking that we will be on the bigger tracks for this series. These cars are not short track cars. Further more the tracks back then were much faster.

Speaking of which, we really need to do some classic tracks with these cars.  We have at least 3 classic US tracks: Riverside, Laguna Seca, and...... Bridgehampton.

Now, there are at least a few classic European tracks.  They are generally very wide open tacks. It might be fun to at least try classic Monza.  Build 13 years after Indianapolis was constructed... it is an interesting track!
