Thanks!
Everyone get ready for tonight!!! Should be a good race with the new cars. Please get some practice in befor race time as these cars can be tricky. Also note your asigned cars.
Thanks!!!!

I've nearly figured out how to stop without spinning, so that's progress! Haha

It honestly doesn't seem to make a difference; the car will just randomly snap around, and I even have the tire health all fine. It won't show lockup and after it rotates, and there's nothing I can do at that point. I'm going to have to bow out.

These vintage cars are not easy to drive fast, especially compared to 'modern' cars. Make sure you're applying and releasing the brakes smoothly, and only in a straight line. They lockup pretty easily... check your audio settings and make sure you have tires set so you can hear them... that's usually the easiest indicator to work with. Start slowly and work carefully up to quicker lap times.
As I mentioned last night - this is possibly one of the worst car/track combos for a new sim driver.

I concur.
Turns out that playing through a large portion of the career doesn't prepare you as well as you'd think for online racing. The career is almost all modern performance cars, and it has all the driver aids (driving line, traction control, no damage or tire wear) turned on. Attempting to wrestle a 60s race car with lots of power and terrible suspension and brakes AND do it without the nannies was a bigger challenge than I had anticipated.
Anyway, my technical issue persists. I'll try and catch you guys next week.

I just watched a good bit of your broadcast. Dam good for a first go at it. Very good job!!! We need to make a proper GP simsports banner for the broadcast.
Really good racing last night! Not without incidents, but there was some close racing. Passing with these cars is HARD!
Since no one has linked it yet, here's 09Unwound's live stream from last night's race. Great first effort!!
@Rodan. I was hoping that 09 unwound was gonna follow our battle to the end. I was sweating bullets for the last couple of laps in the second race, making my car as wide as possible, holding the line and trying to figure out where you wanted to put your car in order for you to pass me.

Yeah, these cars reward a lot of patients. You have to be easy on the throttle coming out of corners and break earlier and softer than you think And then there's just a handling with the bias ply tires that is so very different than modern cars I personally like it a lot I find it challenging, and these are much closer to the cars that I started out with These cars remind me a lot of my 79 Camaro Z 28 track car And even that car would be a significant upgrade compared to these.

If I think of it, I will post up when I'm on during the week and maybe we can try and sort out some of your issues before next week's race. Are you on the discord? If so, a lot of times people will post up and it notifies the other people in the group that they're gonna be on for practice.
It was a good watch, thank you Unwound. If I may make a suggestion, it would be to lower the engine sounds a bit, and raise your voice so that it is easier to hear the commentary.
Great job for the first run though.

Yes, I am. I posted my issue on there, but just so the folks on here can see it, this is the error I get when I try to join the server:
Playing around with it a bit more, it seems the TVR is the problem. It's the only one that doesn't work in offline mode. This is the error I get when I try to drive it:
Seems some files are missing? This is the directory for that car:
I have loaded the update to the TVR from this file, so I'm not sure what else to do?
In reply to dean1484 :
Yeah i was having trouble switching between cars because it doesn't switch uniformly and seems somewhat random i also wanted to get first and second as they cross but i got some of that battle. next time I hope to have a full leader board and have more uniform camera switches.

What I can do is zip up the car file from the server. That way you have exactly what I have. What I dotn know is if the TVR is dependent on any other cars. I think I will take all the cars from the server and make a "car pack" in case we get any new people and to hopfully solve problems like this.

Sounds good, thanks!
Those errors Tom_Spangler is getting suggest that our AC Legends TVR is dependent on another car with the directory name tvr_griffith_200.
Edit: I confirmed that I have such a directory, I uploaded a .zip file with it to Season 18 Cars in the Assets share. Anyone having mysterious TVR errors should try adding that.

Success! That did it.
Now to get some practice in!
