With the Dawnguard DLC comes probably the best companion you could get. My advice, get all the DLC, they're worth it.
Agreed, the only other companion that I've come across that comes close is Aranea(sp?) - the dark elf you get from the Azura's/Black star quest. The magic-based companions are so much better than the melee ones because they don't get in the line of fire as easily.
What the hell level are you where the legendary dragons are running away? I'm on lvl 65 and they're still pestering me.
My Orc Mage tank is level 64 and I have to chase after dragons and hit them with Dragonrend just to get the bastards to fight me. Then it's summon Dremora Lord, fireballs, and heavily enchanted daedric greatsword to the face.

They don't like getting hit by 300+ damage bows? And there is a multiplier for sneaking up on them(I only have to crouch to escape anything and keep getting the sneak multiplier) Also, the shouts become epic in the DLC's
The most fun I have on it is shooting a bloodcursed arrow into the sun from Auriel's bow......everything goes red, vampires invade cities, fire a sunburst arrow into the sun, then laugh as you watch them burn....Oddly enough, serena isn't effected by the sun.
Oh, and I never maxed out the overall level.

I actively avoid doing the stack potions trick......because I'm already overpowered as is.

It's not so much stacking potions as it is every bit of gear I can have boosting archery does. That and heavily smithed daedric bows.
And I do get bored with being able to one shot everything in sneak mode, since I rarely play that character, I mostly stick with the "throw spells at them until they die and if that doesn't work battleaxe to the face" Orc. Although he's pretty overpowered as well. I have Ancient Nord Armor that is stronger than the daedric when I wear it and absorb 70% of the magic thrown my way.

I run dragonscale normally and either auriel's bow or a smithed dragonbone one with a random thunder/frost/fire enchantment on it that deals 60 damage on its own.
My 11yr old killed the big dragon Alduan with one hit. He used a magic dagger that has some percentage of a chance to instant kill which we found by killing some ghosts at a gods grave on the side of a mountain that I can't recall. It was ridiculous. The whole game leads up to this epic pit boss battle - I got my ass handed to me about 100 times trying to beat the bastard with all my awesome gear. He goes in with this stupid knife and instant kills the thing. Leave it to a kid to do the illogical and come out on top.

Alduin was a pushover in the main story line, Alduin was much harder when you face him again in the SoulCairn in the Dawnguard DLC. The first time, I think I 2 or 3 shotted him with an enchanted ebony bow. The second time, even with much more powerful things, was still harder.
I am going to see if I can take over a small town by killing all the guards in it and then see what happens.

Buwahahaha, its possible.....the town's occupants might also fight you though. And sometimes killing them will get a letter sent claiming you were in their will.....which means there were still unresolved quests for that person.

So is having a staff that summons leveled dwarven spheres to do your bidding.
I gave Lidia a saquine rose staff. So I can have Lidia, an atronock and the dude from the Rose staff all fighting with me. Makes for some really fun battles. This makes fighting groups of less than 7 a little boring.
I tried taking over Whiterun last night and could clear all the guards from the exterior but inside the gates things get tough. I think I need to find a smaller town. What I am wondering is if word will travel. I read somewhere that the "law" is town to town and not game wide so bounties in one city don't necessary move to another.

I told my son about this plan the other day and he replied "challenge accepted" . I'll have to tell him about your experience in Whiterun. I just got started on my own. The scenery is amazing.

So the legendary version of the game is 30 bucks at Walmart. Comes with all of the DLC plus the game. The three DLCs add up to 45 dollars or so on the Playstation Store.
That makes sense.
I bought the game, I figure I'll sell the old version to someone for 10 bucks or so.

I am only a level 30 high elf.
I ran in to an issue. I was doing the quest that you have to return the master key. when went in to the cave and spoke with the spirit he mentioned that I should get the book from a previous traveler that was dead in the corner. So I did. When I did this all the quest aero things on the map for the quest disappeared. Even if I deactivate the quest and then re activate it the aeors are still not there. Now I am not sure how to complete the quest (returning the key) I have a save before this happened and I am hoping that I can just re load the old save but if there is a way to fix this I would appreciate it as I plundered a gold mine and got about 4K of gold.
I have put a lot of hours into Skyrim. Between that and the Fallout games I have to be careful when I sit down to play. I tend to play after everyone else has gone to bed and there have been more than a few times I have looked at the clock and it showed 4am when I have to get up at 6 for work.

Yea, that can happen fairly often.....just try reloading from the previous save. I think I had trouble doing the Skeleton Key thing as well.
Gold is easy to get, just go to dawnstar and find the Kajhit caravan chest(its hidden and is a leftover from devs).....you can sometimes get 30k in one stop there. Its not as awesome as the new vegas gun runners glitch, but its decent.
On that note, I had an ancient dragon spawn on the peak of my house roof outside of Falkreath yesterday.....the bastard killed my cow. I've been trying to finish getting all the words of power and a few of them are glitched out/not allowing me to get them.....
Got about an hour of ESO today. They are running a private beta this weekend. Initial impression is positive. Its beta so you can't expect too much polish. Environment looks good, manages to feel a bit single player in an MMO world. If I get too spend any more time with it I will try and let you know if it is worth trying.

I have a feeling that my laptop will be unable to run ESO, so I'm probably going to have to wait for the PS4.
And, you know, buy a ps4 at some point.

Yea. This is the third round of the beta. They always do it on a weekend, which is the time that I have the least amount of time to play.
I probably shouldn't even bother, but all the Skyrim talk had me wanting to go back to Tamerial
ESO Beta Key if you are interested:

So I married my carictor to the sord maiden. Then went to fight a couple giants a dragon 3 mamouths and a savercat and the sord naiden died. But her dead body would talk to me and follow me around on the ground. It was really funny.
