Has anyone rode one? Are they even available in the US? And how would they fit someone who is 6'2"

You could get them for track use only (which is reflected on the title, I think?), but I believe they were dealer special orders. I'm guessing they're pretty hard to find.

I think that the RS250 can be tagged, but a title adds a few thousand to the purchase price, especially if it is registered in California. That purchase price is pretty high to begin with, too. almost $7k, reserve not yet met.

The last string of two-stroke sport bikes have a large premium attached compared to a four-stroke bike of similar vintage.

This is where I spend an hour drooling over the rare-as-hens-teeth two-stroke bikes of the 90's.

Bimota V-Due, anyone? Although I remember reading that they had a bit of trouble functioning. Pretty to look at, though!

Really really cool. Really really expensive.

Legally, neither the Aprilia RS125 nor the RS250 can be registered for the street as they never were imported in accordance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Same goes with the NSRs, TZRs, RGVs, etc. Occasionally you'll see some that were snuck in that folks have been able to register, but they'll always be subject to seizure by the feds. Haven't heard of it happening too much with bikes, but it has been happening with some cars (Skylines). IIRC, the last legally imported 2-strokes were Yamaha RZ350s.

I own an '09 RS125. It has a tag on the front of the right side frame spar that says something like "for competition use only, does not conform to U.S. federal motor vehicle standards," etc. I'm 6'0" and 160lbs. The bike fits and handles great. It's super easy to ride.

I use it for track days. There is an "endurance racing kit" (wink wink) available, and in some states they are easy to title and plate. I've never heard of anyone's bike getting seized by the Feds.

I also have a race bike... 1995 YZF600, 104 leaded, Ohlins everything. I don't ride on the street. At all.
