I bought yet another supermoto last fall and needed room in the garage 'til I could sell a couple bikes. As it's been on the not-running list for ages the RD400 Daytona moved into the basement shop. Out of boredom and due to it being marginally warmer in the shop I started disassembling over the winter and as usual one thing leads to another. I've never owned a bike long enough to restore it except thing one which I've had for about 25 years, so it's earned it.
Plus now I can afford to buy every last bit for it from HVC Cycles.
Details of the sordid affair are on a photo album on Facebook here:

Have a look. Y'all are the kind of sick people who like this sort of thing.
I had an RD 400 back in the day. X-race bike, converted to street. Yosh shocks, steering damper, factory pipe products pipes, shaved heads, and double gaskets under the jugs. A truly awesome bike-until a beretta separated us. Man, that Special's gonna be NICE.
Check out caferacer.net if you haven't yet there is a guy over there by the screen name retrotony that restores RD's he does some incredible work.Thats going to be one sexy bike when you finish it.
