FYI: The powered sidecar wheel is an option not on every Ural but yes makes it very useful. They even sell a Cargo box to replace the side car seat unit.
My friend Dave drives his 2WD all winter, bundles up in a snow mobile suit.
You should see the looks .....

They used to make a all wheel drive version as well.

I have read that their quality control leaves a lot to be desired but the bikes are supposed to be pretty durable once you get those issues sorted.
For me, it's too much scratch for something of questionable quality, marginal performance, and spotty availability for parts. It's like buying a Range Rover when they were still English. Still... very photogenic in the snow. I wouldn't pass up on a free one for sure.
For anyone who is considering one... this will make your Friday:

They are an entertaining novelty, but not something I could particularly use or really enjoy around here.

That's all they are is a novelty. I have friends who have owned them, and they've been around a looooong time, yet I've never once heard anything good about them.
Idea sounds cool, but then you dig a bit deeper...

Granted that post is from 2012 and they have since fuel injected their motors, but I doubt they have come close to addressing all issues raised there.
For me, I have less money in my Bugeye sprite and think it would fill a similar spot in a stable (hey, stock rideheight is pretty high, it could offroad too! ) with more parts availability, and more reliability (could be taken as a joke, but actually seems like it seriously would be from my digging). My 54 year old british roadster is quite possibly safer (scary thought).
Now, why does typing that out make me want to find a locker diff and nobby 13" tires for my bugeye!?!?!
