No, not me - the question has come up on an expat forum I'm a member of and I was hoping someone here would know the answer.
Basically, a member there is planning to emigrate to Canada next year and the shipping company he's planning to use is telling him flat out that it is "illegal" to import a motorcycle into Canada "because they'd rather sell you a new one".
I smell a lot of male bovine excrement as the m/c is older than 15 years, but I don't know much about importing vehicles into Canada so I'm hoping The Hive could help.

I ride and work with riders that have come from all over the world. Many of them brought their bikes with them. There's a Canadian government web site that lists all of the current (less than 15yo) vehicles that are allowed in. Anything over 15 years old is fair game.

The website is www.riv.ca
I don't believe there are any "inadmissible" motorcycles. I imported a car back in 2002 and there were some surprising inadmissible cars (like anything with those electric seatbelts)
RIV will have the documents in .pdf
US Customs will need the required paperwork 3 business days before the vehicle crosses the border.
Thanks everybody for the info, that pretty much confirms what I suspected. The person in question is moving from Germany to Canada, not the US.
His bike is a '99 VFR800, that should fit in nicely under the 15 year rule, shouldn't it.

It's very easy. I've done it several times with both new, and used bikes.
