Got back last night after a week of riding across costa Rica with my best man (getting married in Sept) Total of 700 miles, through the jungle, mud infested E36 M3 holes and everything in between. We rented Honda 250 Tornado's ($300 for the week) from wild rider
Bikes were a bit anemic in the mountains. Flat out they would do about 80mph.
everyone rides 2 strokes... Loved this.
More pics to come, great experience.
Loved the 2 months I spent in Costa rica. The hot bike on the roads at the time was parts catalog built yz85s. With little ticos on them, they go pretty damn good.
The muscle bikes were the cr500s. IN fact, I believe the fasted cr500 in the world was run at the drag strip in guapiles. It's completely covered with aluminum flashing the whole way down. Pretty unique place.
Never saw cruisers or sport bikes. It's just not an option.
My buddy got better pics. We got caught in a bad rainstorm for 3 hrs and my camera was in-op til it dried out. Thankfully I bought a 10 mega pix fuji camera @ the Walmart for $50 -
I took enough clothes for 4 days and had a hotel do laundry @ $3 for 6 lb.
Ate really well
drank too much
Offered every drug known to man
Lots of women offered themselves for bargain prices (I am getting married for a reason and waited 34 yrs for the right one....Ill pass on your Aids thanks)
This was $6
Roadside bar
One of the better hotels we stayed @
On the road
man I miss the black sand beaches... they where always so kewl... although in the middle of the day they got HOT lol...
costa rica is a neat place... would love to get to back one day... was only there for 2 weeks (1 of which in an indian village right at the boarder of Panama)... the temps where so much better even in the jungle vs centeral Panama was...
thanks for sharing man
Just got back from CR Monday but we stayed in Playa Hermosa for most of the time. Looking forward to going back again soon.
I have been living in Costa Rica for 13 years now. There are several Harley clubs and big bikes. It's a little too late in the season, it's staring to rain every day. You can rent big bikes here, which are much better in hills.. Glad you had fun, the roads are dangerous at night so be careful...

Angel,
I traveled to CR a few years ago and the advice given to most tourists about driving was...Don't. True? I mean I've driven in some of the worst cities in the states for traffic and hazards. What's your take?
It was no worse then Toronto in some sections... most are wide open. I didn't worry too much, but stayed alert. Lots of Cops and speed traps.
