I usually use gallon jugs to fill my oil during oil changes. I have a funnel that rests the gallon jug with out holding it. I got a case of quarts in a deal and didn't have my regular funnel. The Ford oil cap is the same thread as the oil quarts. I cut one down and screwed it into the oil hole. It nicely held the quarts so I could clean up. 7.3L took 15 quarts including hpop.
Been doing that for decades. Even within the threads matching. I will cut triangles or off the spot to shoe oil to flow out quickly when the valve cover has a baffle that seals against the end of the funnel.
Gear oil bottle nozzles thread onto all sorts of different plastic bottles, including 2l bottles...
