Things I need to do:
- Torque damper
- Clean lifters
- Finish welding engine mounts
- Paint engine mounts
- Buy just-in-case engine mounts in case mine are screwed up and I messed something up while fabbing/welding? Maybe?
- Buy coolant and other needed fluids
Sounds like fun, but I hope I'm still coaching that day for the state championship in Lakeland the following week.
Lil Stampie is out so I'll get to test my homeless future in the Suburban. Reminds me I need to revisit that thread and get the window screens.
In reply to Fladiver64 (Forum Supporter) :
Got a small group of people meeting Saturday morning. John H/hobiercr has graciously allowed us his garage.
Message me and we will coordinate.
In reply to jgrewe :
Same. I figured since my truck was the guest of honor I might as well be there semi-early.
First task and we broke the steering on the Amazon.
That fix lasted about 30 seconds so we double downed on zip ties.
Amazon out of the shop.

Hnnnnngggg. That Amazon! Is there a build thread? One of those is on my "must own someday" list.

Here is a cool one if you're ready to pull the trigger.

Hit some issues adjusting the rockers so it didn't go in today. I used the time to peer pressure Mr_Asa into painting the head to match the dark blue Ford short block.
The engine & transmission are not playing nice.
Edit: E mated to T but they need to be split again because the pressure plate is not lined up and it is bound up against the TC. Part of the delay today was we found the transmission mount had no bolts in it and needed some love. One of the bolts is stripped and will need a helicoil. We got one engine mount in but the other was being ugly. We were able to get all the jacks and hoists removed and get the truck inside the shop. Evan should be able to get it buttoned up next weekend. If you're free, come hang out.
Well, berkeley my new motor mounts. Something did not go right with them. The rest of it I'm ok with not wrapping up (although I forgot my camera at John's, and that's also kinda annoying.)
But the motor mount not working is annoying as hell. Maybe when everything is tightened up it'll work? Probably not.
Mounts V3.0 coming soon.
