Move over MX-5 Cup, there’s a new one-make series coming to town: The Toyota GR Cup.
More information is set to be announced “early this summer,” but so far Toyota has confirmed that it will be launching a GR86-based, one-make series for North America come 2023.
No information has yet been provided on specific venues, but seven races are currently planned for the season.
The press release also names Crescent Tools and Mobil 1 as founding partners of the GR Cup.
The question for the rest of the class, then: The GR Cup or the MX-5 Cup?
In reply to ProDarwin :
If it wasn't announced via a press release, I'd be a lot more suspicious, but I'm confident that this isn't a joke.

They announced the GR86 cup for Japan back in February, so I'm less likely to believe it's joke.
Yeah, In Japan you can get the BRZ Cup Car Basic with a roll cage pre-installed from the factory, along with eye bolts for six-point belts and an oil cooler.
They announced that in Feb as Z31Maniac said.
