Could it be something like an Elantra N competitor?

First, a short press release in our inbox letting us know that VW is pulling the cover off of the 2025 Jetta and Jetta GLI on June 25:
Reston, VA — Volkswagen of America, Inc. will reveal the 2025 Jetta and Jetta GLI at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 25th, with the revamped Jetta lineup expected to reach U.S. dealers by the end of Q3 2024.
Then, a cheeky post on social media that says, “A shift is coming 6/25.”
Two separate announcements from the same car company set for the same day? Seems like too much of a coincidence to us–they have to be related.
If we were the betting type, we’d say that VW has all but confirmed the 2025 GLI (and maybe even the non-GLI Jetta) will be available with a manual transmission.
At any rate, something from VW with a manual gearbox is getting unveiled tomorrow, June 25, and that's definitely something to get excited about in a day and age when the manual is slowly disappearing.
Call me confused, didn't the GTI get the manual discontinued? But the GLI is going to solider on with it still?

Yes, it is a bit confusing since VW did discontinue the manual in the GTI.
Again, this is just speculation at this point, as VW hasn't officially confirmed anything just yet.
There is a chance that the Jetta unveiling and what was posted to social are two unrelated items, but it seemed like way to much of a coincidence for both items to not be related.
