I responded to an ad on Craigslist for Miata parts. I showed up expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised by the condition. The PO said it needed an engine. I discovered the timing belt was broken and felt it was the right thing to explain to the owner that this was an easy fix. He wanted to know if I had $400 cash with me. I brought it home. Since buying it I have also scored a hardtop and a Hard Dog rollbar from Pull-A-Part for less than $125!!! I don’t normally have this kind of luck, so please don’t hate me. I’m keeping it in dry storage till I decide if it becomes a dedicated track toy or it gets the $20XX treatment.
