A lot of body work went into this project. I wanted it to end up with show winning quality. The body was completely disambeled and then acid dipped. Anything rusty was replaced. The firewall was filled in as were trim and side lights. The heater vents were also filled in. I basicly welded up every hole I found and drilled new ones when I needed them. The rear fenders were originally just rolled, but they still would not clear my slicks so I had them widened by 1.25” all around then welded back together to match an original Spitfire shape. The scoop is fiberglass that we made sure was smoothed into the hood both on top and bottom. Most scoops on metal hoods start to crack at the seam, but the friend who did it for me did an incredible job. I almost did not want to paint it it was that good.
